Their services over time has become weak. Members who deliver are nice, yet are doing this for tax write offs. They have delivered my lunch meals for apprx 3 to 4 years. All of the sudden Im become disqualified from the program because delivering has been unsafe. This is what they call unsafe: A broken car with a broke out back window. This will harm someone. A dog that was tied to a pole. Yet has not been at this home for 2 weeks. They seem to give the food tray to whomever comes to the door, yet report back that they I dont come to the door and only sees others. Never do these Deliverer's ask for me, and hold the tray for me to come to the door. In speaking with Lisa the director its understood that things like a broken down car, none moveable items displayed in the surroundings, i live where the owner allows others to live in the other room. Automatically the door can not be answered by no one but the person receiving the tray. These are the reasons Lisa has decided bringing food for me will cause harm to the deliverers. They don't have no reason to show how a driver will be harmed . I see that there means of help are catered to the opinion of the deliver It did not matter that the meal they brought was my only means of providing food. What mattered was a car that doesn't move and has a broke out window was going to all of the sudden have some ability to reach out and harm a driver bringing a tray. Or a dog that no longer was there. If you depend on eating this is not the agency. Most their food is good. Their weak reasons to remove you is lame. They probably over full

This was my first time volunteering to do Meals on Wheels and enjoyed this experience. My husband and I enjoyed it so much that we are going again tomorrow and help out. I am going to try and help with donations or volunteering as much as I can after today. Love seeing these elderly peoples faces when we knock on the door. If you have never volunteered I urge you to go by and help out I promise you will enjoy it! Thank you MOW for allowing my husband and I to help out!

Me and my family love volunteering at Meals On Wheels. We have done it for several years. They are always so kind and understanding. My 12 year old son thinks Barbra hung the moon. They both enjoy this weekly venture. I think they really care about their clients. I really urge you to volunteer, it will be a great experience.

I am well aware the the success of the MOW program in Lubbock depends on volunteers and donors. I found it surprising that when I dropped off my Senior Santa items earlier this week that the lady at the front desk could have cared less. Just put them over there she said and nothing more. A simple Thank You, would have gone a long way. Even when your help is volunteer they need to be instructed on the common courtesies especially when they are the first person inside the door that people interact with. I am thankful that the MOW program in Lubbock is able to serve so many people.

My mom called two weeks ago. Nobody has bothered to call her at all. I signed her up for southern plains food bank for Christmas, to no avail. Seniors need help and I think call backs should be a priority.
