I walked up there to get some food for my family, when I showed up to the tent the Mexican lady was giving me dirty looks, rolled her eyes at me, gave me an attitude and didn't want to help me. She said because I'm white I have to show ID when no one else there had to show theirs. That was rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't have shown up if I didn't need help. So she turned me away and told me I had to go get my ID and stand in the back of the line and said someone else had to help me. I will be contacting the Kelly Relief for Hunger headquarters and reporting this place for racism. I'm sick and tired of being turned away because I'm white. This is unacceptable. Little do you people know, my husband is Mexican. This is another place in this God forsaken city that doesn't like white people coming for help. Just because I'm white doesn't mean I have money. I live off of disability, with a disabled child and don't qualify for food stamps in this city. The city I came from, I was getting over $700 in food stamps, I move here and they cut me off. I live below poverty and can't work due to my disability status, so please tell me why every food pantry I go to in this city doesn't want to help me? This is ridiculous. Literally making people starve due to their race.

Volunteers and staff are very friendly & welcoming. They encourage you to return each month. They even offer free books you can choose from to keep. They are generous in giving. You get to pick your can goods from their selection. Very nice

An Angel Network

I arrived on the streets of El Paso both homeless and clueless, but the Kelly Center turned out to be my saving grace. They truly are an angel network. On my first day in El Paso, I went to the Kelly Center. That same day, they provided me with specific directions to a clinic where I gained access to healthcare, placed me into a shelter, gave me a bowl of hot homemade chicken soup, and provided specific directions to where I could apply for government benefits. They also told me to come back so they could help me with my resume. Their support has been invaluable, and I think all the people working in the Kelly Center are going to Heaven for their kindness and dedication. If you're in need of assistance, the Kelly Center is a beacon of hope.

The worst place. Food is moldy and rotting. The guys handling parking are impatient, cruel and rude. The workers have their favs and save the better food for who they like as opposed to first come, first serve basis. Some folks get more and some less being that I'm the less. They should have healthy food and give accordingingly

Went for 1st time on 12/24/24. Very easy process. Very friendly staff.

Go up
