We have been members here for almost 10 years. Initially it was to have a spiritual home to raise our children, but it has become so much more. While I still bristle at the word "church", it's become the most important communities in our lives. Here, there are people who are living into their values, working to build the future they want to see, and practicing what they believe. Truly a spiritual home for the liberal spirit; we live under a covenant to be better humans in community with one another, not a creed that emphasizes power outside of oneself. It's a beautiful place.

If you are searching for a Christian Unitarian Universalist church this will be a good fit. Lots of readings from the Christian bible and encouragement to say “amen” to parts you agree with as another commenter mentioned. It is very welcoming to LGBTQ+.

If you are looking for a more humanist UU church this is probably not the place for you.

During the Christmas Eve service some quotes from Christian ministers contained historic inaccuracy e.g. “Mary [mother of Jesus] is an African, Semite, refugee, Palestinian, teen mom with nappy hair.” There was also no recognition of Hanukkah or that Hanukkah and Christmas shared the night. This felt odd for a UU service. This service would have fit well in a Methodist or Lutheran church.

A happy place with a large choir and thoughtful sermon. We attended the 11 am Sunday service. Parking is no problem.

My partner and I have recently started attending JUC regularly, and we admire many things about this community. We have a long history attending various churches of various faiths in different states in the USA. The building is clean and presents well. The staff and ministers are heart-based, intelligent, friendly and well spoken. The services are well organized and thoughtful, including a great music program. And to cap it off, as they should, they offer many diverse and impactful ways to give back to the community and make a real difference. What's not to like?

I was first drawn in by the former sign on the church: "A Religious Home for the Liberal Spirit." Since first setting foot in JUC nearly 12 years ago, it has been just that: a home. A place to connect authentically, love radically, serve respectfully, and deepen spiritually. A place that helps me better understand a world and society that don't always make sense, and figure out how to make my way forward with love, compassion, and bravery, while staying connected to my religious values.

JUC is the place I go for community, for solace, and to relight the flame of my spirit.

Every Sunday there's great music and messages by an amazingly talented team. This church is involved in awesome service in the community. Services year round at 9:15 and 11:00.

I found this place while doing a Google search for a church that would be willing to perform a wedding or commitment ceremony without needed papers and I was literally in a rush to get it all done because of the pandemic. Suffice it to say at first things were good, and I was able to connect with a lot of good people via zoom, but its time with Dan, I think the congregation began to believe that I was too needy, and was nothing more than a beggar. I have come to this church repeatedly trying to get help and I was trying to do things for myself and later when I found out I was pregnant with my baby son, things really got down to the wire. I know I’ll take care of an eight week old, baby boy, and why he might love the nursery, I’m sorry to say, but aside from the nursery people who are really cool, there is a lot wrong with this church. For one, there’s anti-blind embolism in everything except for the braille hymnal. Don’t tell me you have a braille him now, and then sit there and refuse to allow a blind person to serve any capacity such as in the nursery. I had planned to do this each month and you say that you all have an abundance of staff. Well, I am Malcolm‘s mother, my son, Malcolm is eight weeks old and I had them in the nursery twice. Supposed to say while he was loved and cared for which I have no problem with, myself and my partner Clayton we’re not. Start with me. I’m the one who bought Malcolm OK? My issue is I was not cared for enough and I was never invited to places even while I was pregnant. No one even bothered to talk to me, and the atmosphere in the church is cold and unwelcoming to people like me, and I am blind, just as my partner is from birth. Malcolm is cited, and his eyes are perfectly normal, but Clayton, on the other hand, well, he and I are both blind and my partner Clayton and I are very much in love with one another and we want ones best for our son. I would advise if you are a silent person and you are well-off and you have a lot of money and you have a lot of money and things to dispose of, you’re safe. But if you’re someone who is truly in need of the churches help, and you expect them to follow their own covenants and principles, think again. This church has failed every respect to follow the principles.
