I have mixed emotions on this shelter honestly when I first moved to Ohio I was staying in a hotel and I found a cat outside and I called around to a lot of shelters to which they told me they are full or she wasn’t in critical condition so I could keep her but summit county told me I could bring her there and they would take her for me. That made me think they were a nice shelter but I ended up moving into a house shortly after this and called to find out about the cat and they told me they couldn’t release any info and etc the girl originally told me she’d make a note in her file. Now for my second experience I came in there looking at the dogs since I have a cane corso that could really use a friend and they had a cane corso there as well and I thought omg perfect but I’m a person where i want to meet the animal before I fill out papers especially when I was told even after filling out the papers they will decide if the dog would be a good fit and they would even recommend a dog if the dog you want to see doesn’t seem to fit with what u put on the paper. Over all shelters are getting like fostering a child and I think yes you need to take precautions but it shouldn’t be like I’m adopting a 5 month old.

Just adopted my cat Mushroom from them. All the workers were so sweet and helpful! I am happy that i went here to adopt my kitty 🩷

Nice and clean animals have lots of space. Only thing is you can’t touch any of the animals which was a bummer. But we just went to walk around not looking to adopt at this time. Like the other review said lots of Pit bulls and German shepherds and cats didn’t see any puppies.

Stopped in after visiting Pet Pajamas ( with that miserable owner who is retiring and closing shop) on my way home . Place was amazingly clean and the staff so friendly and helpful . I was shocked that there was absolutely no odor . All animals had food and water . Several volunteers walking the dogs . Unfortunately it was full of pit bulls and one German Shepherd. Sad to see so many pits needing homes - they get such a bad rap from everyone and they all seemed so sweet and loved by the staff. Lots and lots of cats and a couple kittens , also a huge black rabbit. Left feeling happy they were so well cared for just sad to see all pit bulls desperately needing a loving home.

I adopted a 2 year old cat named "T.K." here back in 2004. I was 20 years old and living with my girlfriend who eventually became my wife.

That cat passed away today at the age of 22.

He was my best friend and I never would have met him if not for this shelter.

Go find your best friend.

The new facility is amazing and the staff on sight are absolutely wonderful, caring, and professional.

However, trying to get ahold of the adoption team over the phone is cumbersome.

I assume you are all busy, but my voicemails are not returned with phone calls and if they are, it’s days later. This has happened three times.

If I reach the front desk, they’ll pass along the message and I still never get a call back.

Update, September 2022: This is the best cat I have ever had. I encourage everyone to go adopt a cat instead of going straight for the kittens. Adult cats need homes too, and are quite grateful to be out of a small cage. Sir Thomas is thriving and such a joy to have in my home.

September 2021: I had a great experience with the Humane Society last week. I'd been looking at their adoptable cats online, and couldn't stop thinking about one in particular. As the website says, you must make an appointment by phone, so I did that. The communication was easy and accurate. I arrived and was taken to the room where the cat I wanted to meet was, and it worked out perfectly. He is such a love, and happy in his new home. Thank you for all you do. I wish more people would come give these deserving animals a home.

I had high hopes for my visit but unfortunately, it turned out to be a complete letdown. We arrived at the store at 5 PM, fully expecting to have some time to browse and see some fur babies. To our dismay, as we approached the entrance, we saw a staff member racing to close the door right in front of us!

It's incredibly frustrating when a business advertises hours until 5:30 PM and then shows such a lack of professionalism by trying to shut down early. We felt unwelcome and rushed, and it's clear that customer service is not a priority at this store.

I understand that everyone wants to go home at the end of the day, but if you can't manage your closing time properly, maybe you shouldn't advertise those hours in the first place. There are plenty of other pet shelters that value their customers and provide a much better experience. I won't be returning to this location anytime soon.

Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere that actually cares about their customers!
