I called seeking help the lady answered the phone rushing me off the phone not giving any care or compassion telling me no they don't help before I could finish my questions. I told her she was rushing me off the phone she kept rushing but also saying sorry. How are you a place that's suppose to help people but have no compassion. Be kind be understanding listen first at least act like u are attempting to help you never know what a person is going through or whats on their mind!!

Had a horrible experience with some of the workers...they are unprofessional and do not follow up....They are also liars. The Director Gladys Brumfield is ghetto and rude....and threaten to call the police and have me escorted when I was just trying to get assistance. Mr. Booker act as if he doesn't know what to do unless Gladys gives him permission. When calling the main number, the calls are hardly responded to....I have sat in the building and called and the receptionist sits right there while the phone rings, and does not answer it. I have met 3 other individuals there who are homeless and need assistance and have been turned away by Catholic Charities. The only positive vibes that I have gotten was from the lady in the kitchen who assist me when she is able. God bless her to move on to bigger and better things because she deserves to work for a place that cares....Because its obvious that being under the direction of Gladys is a big disappointment.

Mamie George Community Center; 1111 Collins Rd., Richmond TX 77469, open Mon-Fri 9am to 3pm, is part of Catholic Charities in the Houston Galvestion Catholic Diocese. It provides an AWESOME outreach to Fort Bend County's senior residents.
Seniors are allowed 2 free bus tickets daily: one from their residence to Mamie George and one to return to their residence from Mamie George.
Mornings, Mon-Fri, the Fort Bend Transit bus picks up Seniors at their residence and "drops" them off at Mamie George. They, along with other Seniors who do not ride the bus, are offered a Continental-type breakfast before attending various daily activities. Activities include a Reading Library, an Arts & Crafts Center, an Exercise/Workout Room, a Bible study on specific days and times, a Games Room where seniors can play Dominos and/or Card Games, and an area supplied with various types & sizes of puzzles.
Lunch is served daily at "Patty's Cafe" from 11 to 2 o'clock where seniors who have registered can eat free of charge; there is a fee for others to eat at Patty's. The Fort Bend bus picks up Seniors after lunch and takes them home.
Drive-through food distribution is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Mamie George, one in the morning and one in the evening. The Malta & Catholic Diocese, along with the Houston Food Bank sponsor a once-a-month drive-through Food Fair at Mamie George Center usually held on the last Saturday morning of the month from 9:30 till 11 o'clock. Mamie George Community Center and the Houston Food Bank also sponsor a bi-monthly "Senior Box" food distribution. Seniors who live in Fort Bend County, who meet specific qualifications must register for the program may pick up their "Senior Boxes" once every 2 months.
