This place is amazing and provides resources and a place to stay for women leaving domestic abuse homes. It's clean, safe and provides a safe environment for children. It's the best of the best and an excellent place to start over. I highly reccomend this shelter if you're serious about getting away from domestic violence. If you're not, this is not the place for you.

Wanted to donate 3 5 gallon bags of used clothes. Called before to see if they accept used clothing or if there was a limit the lady on the phone was wonderful and let me know what the organization was about and how they support those in need and was more than happy to take the used clothes; however, when I made it to the location no exaggeration I wasn’t even able to get a full sentence out before the lady at the front desk told me they do not accept used clothes. I asked if she knew where else they accept used clothes she responded “I don’t know”. Train your workers this is shameful. Donate to goodwill instead

Stay away. Cheeks answering phones poorly trained and victim shamed. Lesli Russell wish as I gern at Hopes Door received no altercation for professional abuse. Instead the victim of her abuse was black listed. They won’t admit that they make excuses but when I caught them in same using different name they had a place. This was done to avoid exposure abd lawsuit. I have been ill and surgeries which why has not been done. I always hope that people can make corrections and improvements rather than hurting a woman man or child. Very condescending. Poor poor training as former and current woman’s advocate. Victim shaming even if they hear you ordering food (hypoglycemic). Had intern as counseled. Have many emails showing the abuse reported. . No follow up and clearly black listed. I have to consult w attorney to show these emails from them first.

I was taking online bipp classes. One of the worst experiences I have ever had to sit thru. (6 out of 24 classes).
In my opinion, The "instructor
Issac" uses profanity as if it was "amusing" or "cute" for a person his age. Total lack of professionalism. And as far as the actual "counciling" it's an indoctrination for male bashing.
It goes like this according to his narrative:

there are many factors
To why people are in the these classes but don't expect them to be taken into consideration in his class. And the guys I was in class with don't have the courage to speak up because they don't want to Fail the course,for speaking up and find them self's in My situation of having to find another group. Like I am now.
I pray God Adonai gives He and I understanding in these matters. I pray any one looking for help finds it.

It's definitely a hit and miss, miss, and miss again. The counselors are great! Everyone else needs additional training. are they truly there to help? I'm starting to think the resources are a facade. Their legal department seem incompetent and the shelter advocates say one thing and do another.
Their approach, dialogue, empathy is way off! Especially for their clientele type. Once I get my feet back to Firm ground, I'm coming back to investigate this. Women and children need real
Advocacy during crises like domestic violence. Something is off here, so don't expect much from them. Their marketing and brand are very misleading. Hope door not everyone who seeks help is uneducated or poor. Some women truly need a stepping bridge to cross back over to safety. You are failing them.

Cliff is a very helpful instructor. The office staff sucks! I completed the 6 months course, paid in full and they still won't give me my paperwork. Avoid this place

Me and my daughter were immediately exited after I tossed my stroller out of my way,so I could get to the living room bc my roomate had the lights and TV on at almost midnight and my daughter and I. Couldn't sleep. No goodbyes or anything just, "you have an immediate 1 hr exit". Just for tossing my stroller to the side, i was mad but I wasn't hurting anyone. Roomage tried to say i threw it at her son. That was lie.Put me and my daughter in danger on the street. Some ppl get to stay longer than others,also not fair. Why gave me write a statement just to kick me out?
There's like 6 rooms and they moved me all over each room without reason in just a short span of two months.
