If you are looking to adopt a horse I totally would recommend Hooker Ranch Equine Rescue!

We adopted my Dream horse, Versace a swedish warmblood Arabian cross. He was owner surrendered to Hooker Ranch and he is even been started in dressage and that makes him perfect because I'm an English rider and wish to start jumping him eventually. Lisa was very honest and patient while I got to know him and ride him. He has adapted here very well he has even started whinnying to me when I come to feed him every day. All the other horses are loved and have fresh water and room to move and roam around, Hooker Ranch really does care about the horses and actually wants to help them. And Lisa has kept in contact with us in case we need any help. We do plan on adopting from them again!

If you are looking to adopt a horse, this is the place to go. Lisa gave us a tour of the beautiful facility and explained how horses come to her and all that she does to care for them. She is the real deal! She has a love for them and cares for them with a big heart. We adopted Addie, a registered Arabian, as a companion horse and she is the sweetest girl. We will always go back here for our future adoptions for other animals in the future.

I was fortunate to spend time on the ranch and see the facilities and operations. Hooker Ranch is well-run and managed, there is no agenda other than providing the best care and supporting the well-being of the equines. Lisa and Ken work tirelessly to ensure the equines are happy and healthy while they find adoptive homes or live the rest of their days in a sanctuary setting. Lisa is incredibly knowledgeable and willingly shared her expertise and experience. There are beautiful pastures, ample feed, and lots of love for the lucky equines at Hooker Ranch.

I adopted Velvet from Lisa. Velvet is an Arabian that just 6 months ago suffered from sever malnutrition, appeared to have scars from abuse and the worst horse lice they had ever seen. When I adopted her she had clearly been medically and emotionally rehabbed by a pro. Now, Velvet is happy, healthy, and in spite of the abuse-very loving and even tempered.

I went to visit Hooker Ranch Equine Rescue with about 10 minutes notice that I was coming and was welcomed with a tour of the facility- I met each horse and Lisa shared with me each of their stories and let me love on them. Clean water, clean pens, happy horses, donkeys and minis that all have plenty of open space to run “free”.

If you are looking to rescue a horse- call Lisa and talk to her- she always answers the phone and is open, honest and operates with integrity.

I cannot say enough about this rescue- my only regret is not finding them sooner!

We recently adopted two donkeys and couldn’t be happier. As first-time farm animal owners, we had many questions, but the staff made us feel completely at ease. We recently adopted Victor for my lil girl. Lisa was awesome to work with and even let her have multiple trials to make sure the fit was a good one. She has been accommodating and willing to help us with anything we may need now or in the future and overall it was a simple pain free process and now my girl has another best friend! What an amazing place! We have been searching for some fantastic horses for a local camp. Lisa was so kind to show me around twice, answer any questions and spend so much time with us. She truly cares for each and every one of these amazing animals and it shows. We are delighted to adopt 3 and foster 1 horse right now with more to come in the future. I can't say enough about this rescue and the peace I get from adopting here!
