This place saved my life. I was homeless for seven years until I was welcomed into this shelter. For those who are trying to get on their feet this place is great. small groups, clean, safe, drug free good food. The staff truly cares about helping people. They had given me clothes out of their own pockets just so I could get a job. They helped me get to doctors' appointments. When I was at my emotional lowest the staff was very supportive. It was the first time i had been treated like a normal person in the past 7 years of living on the streets. The only thing negative with their housing programs is sometimes they can set you up in a good place other times a slum lord. which was my experience but that really has to do with the rescores of the town who offer to work with them rather than the shelter program. But they do what they can. I never would have been able to get on my feet without them and I haven't been homeless again since I left back in Aug/Sept of 2018. it's 2024 I now own my own home; I have all of my children back home and I'm in my second semester in college. I will forever be grateful to the staff and community of the H.I.T Foundation. Love you Jackie and everyone else.

I've been homeless for almost 9 months now. I've given up seeking help because I got tired of playing phone tag! They even put me in a circle with JFS saying they can help me instead. Which news flash. Was a straight up lie. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do, where to go, and who to go to for help due to how unreliable they've been.. Hell the jobs around here refuse to either hire me full time or barely give me hours.JFS

The HIT Foundation has always been there for the community. My experience with them has been nothing but excellent. As long as you follow your lease guidelines and NOT try to find any loopholes your experience will be the same. I would definitely recommend the HIT Foundation!!

A very helpful young man helped me on my first visit....it was lunch time so I never saw the personal people I needed to see....I will try again Friday morning
