We moved to Texas in January 2022 and found MyCBCB online about six months prior to moving. We fell in love with this church just by watching online, and couldn't wait to attend in person. It has been our home church for a year now and we love it! It has an excellent children's program for kids and teens of all ages, and a wide variety of small groups, Bible studies, and activities for people of all walks of life—women's ministry, men's ministry, groups for married people, people with children, and so much more. Pastor Larry is one of the most genuine people you'll ever meet and the worship is Christ-centered every single week. The leadership is transparent about ministry goals, finances, and accountability, and seeks to honor God in every decision.

This is the largest church I have attended regularly, but it doesn’t feel like. From the moment you walk in the doors there are people right there ready to greet you and connect you to the groups that fit you and your family. I love MYCBCB and so does my husband and kiddos and we have enjoyed the past year of being a part of it.

Same great church, great new name, really feels like home the moment you walk in. The preaching is on point and 100% biblical, pastor Larry also does an amazing job holding your attention if you happen to have a touch of ADD... so I've heard 😉

If you’re looking for a truly biblical church who lives in the scripture, this is not your church. After moving to the area, we have been looking for a church to call home. I tried to give this church a chance since their webpage appeared to use all the right words. However, when we visited we found that this church was a watered down form of a non denominational church. The pastor used three half scriptures in the attempt to show people seven ways to love like Jesus. It was obvious that the pastor does not teach from the Bible and due to his possible insecurities, he uses his humor to hide these insecurities in his ability to teach. With that said, my biggest issue with this pastor and the culture of the church is simply this. The pastor said “learning to follow Jesus, doesn’t mean you have to be like or even believe in Jesus.” I was hoping that this was a segue which would lead to the overall goal of following Jesus as the Bible teaches, but we never got there. So either the pastor believes this or this statement was made in error. If this statement was made in error, then it’s obvious that the pastor has issues in teaching and therefore his lack of knowledge is leading people down the wrong direction and away from truth. This church is a Sunday check box that will never challenge its congregation when sin shows up in their lives.

Response to my review:

To the staff:

I don’t keep my name anonymous because I did not want you to know who I am. It’s anonymous because I’m a private person and no one needs to know my email and name. This wasn’t meant to hide from you or your church. Regardless, unfortunately we have never met so my legal name wouldn’t change my review or personal opinion.

In response to your Matthew 18 resolution, you didn’t sin against me so there is no resolution to be had between two people. Secondly, I encourage you to read James 3:1. I further advise to read 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9. The understanding and use of scripture (or lack there of) was one of the main reasons we were extremely put off and concerned with the direction of this church. It is apparent that our views of the Bible and actual scripture do not line up and your church’s interpretation of scripture is willing to be used to fit the world we live in.

Finally, my review wasn’t for the pastor or the church, I doubt that even a face to face discussion would resolve in any change. My review was for those who are looking for a biblically sound church. I apologize if this is upsetting to you or your staff, but even the pastor clearly said, to love like Jesus was to be truthful and that’s what I was doing, being truthful.

If you want a church where you feel like family, you stay engaged in the sermon with a few laughs and practical ways you can apply what you heard in your life that week, where people are praying for you even if you don’t know it, you can feel the Holy Spirits presence throughout worshipping God, and your kids are safe without you having to worry then MYCBCB is the place to be. Love my church home!

As I was super sad to move out of town and have to leave our church family I am super thankful that as I look back I see how CBCB taught me through Womens ministry and sermons how to study the Bible, find Gods truth, and his character and how to apply it to my everyday life. MYCBCB will always have a place in my heart. It is where Jesus built my foundation!
