Cold weather and spicy food are a perfect match. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experiences here during our stay in Durango, visiting both evenings. The biryani, naan, curries, and grill platter were all exceptional. The service was also prompt and friendly.

Have always enjoyed the food here. They have great vegetarian options and love their butter tea (which is not mentioned on the menu). The ambience is very unique and takes you to Nepal. Must try this unique stop in Durango.

Visiting after a local recommendation has to be the best choice I made during my trip to Durango. Himalayan Kitchen has flavor and food so delicious and very unique to the area! Between my guest and I, we ordered the Nepalese Curry and Chicken, the Sherpa Stew, and the Garlic Naan, and it was all absolutely incredible and good portions for the costs. The flavor was unbelievable, especially the curry. They have a few tables for outdoor seating which is great for the cute downtown area Himalayan Kitchen is located in! I highly recommend this restaurant for locals or visitors looking for great flavor!!

My recent dining experience at Himalayan Kitchen in Durango, Colorado, was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with an atmosphere of warmth and authenticity that set the stage for an unforgettable meal. Starting off with a delicious beer and indulging in the dumplings for an appetizer, I knew I was in for a treat.

Opting for the grilled meat dish, which featured shrimp, lamb, and chicken cooked in onions, I was blown away by the explosion of flavors. The dish far surpassed my expectations, with each protein cooked to perfection and complemented by the sensational fresh green sauce. To elevate the experience further, I requested some hot sauce, which added a flavorful and spicy kick that I highly recommend to anyone seeking an extra punch of flavor.

Accompanied by a side of rice and some bread that resembled Pita, every element of the meal was meticulously prepared and incredibly satisfying. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring that every need was met promptly and courteously. Despite the bustling Friday evening crowd, the restaurant maintained its cleanliness and charm, albeit requiring street parking.

My dinner was adventurous!!  I really enjoy experiencing different cultural foods but often struggle with the spice levels. I'm a zero spice person.  Our waiter patiently convinced me that he truly meant "mild" in describing the spice level of their curry, and he was right.
My companions enjoyed the salmon (not spicy) and the chow chow (surprisingly spicy).
I chose the Daal Bhat Chicken and was not disappointed!  The curry had a wonderful flavor and not even a hint of a spicy buildup.  I loved the variety of sides and the dessert that came with this dish.  I got to sample so many things!  The lentils were too spicy for me, but everything else was really good, including the Kheer desert, which was not overly sweet.
We were there on a quiet night and received just the right amount of attention from our waiter as my friends and I ate and visited around the table.  I love that we found this wonderful gem in Durango!

I had the lamb daal baht, chicken curry, lamb biryani, garlic naan, cheese naan, and Mount Everest in a blanket. All of it was fantastic and well worth the price. Service was great and friendly. Atmosphere was comfortable. If you have any chance to go here, do it.

The perfect post-snow food. Spicy, delicious, and filling. We ate here multiple nights we stayed in Durango and everything we had was amazing.

We ordered chicken momo and Kathmandu sekuwa for takeout and they told us to wait for 20 mins. The momo was good but small and the momo sauce was also quite good. But for the sekuwa, i have never seen such a huge pieces if sekuwa. Lot of onions under it and little sauce with it. I tried one and it was tasteless. I had to throw the remaining food, thought it was such a waste of money to order it.
