Hillside Fellowship is a fantastic church, home to a welcoming community of believers. Whether you’re a Christian looking for a new church home or just someone interested in learning about Christianity, Hillside is a welcoming place that unapologetically teaches from the Bible in a loving and honest way.

All the pastors are excellent, and the head pastor, Dave, is especially good at teaching the gospel in a way that you can understand no matter what your level of biblical knowledge is. The atmosphere is relaxed, and there is no dress code; the staff and pastors mostly wear t-shirts and jeans.

At the time of this review, they are just getting used to a new building, which has been great so far. I highly recommend giving Hillside a try. I’m very grateful for this church, and it has been such a blessing in my life. Hope to see you there!

Wow! This place is so amazing! Went with my family and boy was the spirit of the lord in that room! The preaching was amazing 👏 the pastor has an amazing story that touched my heart due to myself going through similar experiences! His preaching is so in-depth and relatable! His love for God shines in this place! Please go see this church work in the presence of God and bask in Jesus's love it's my new favorite church!

Visited a few months ago with my family. My son went to the kids class and I ended up having to take my daughter to the baby room. None of the women in the baby room said hi to me or tried to talk to me. They were very cold towards me for wanting to stay in the room with my baby as I had never been away from her. One of the women in the room said "I think she's okay".. trying to get me to leave my daughter. Another woman who walked the halls stopped by and said "oh, did she (my daughter) not do okay?" (she was confused why I was still there in the room with my daughter).
This was all very weird. The coldness from the women in the room with the babies and the fact that they clearly had an issue with me wanting to stay with my baby. It was our VERY FIRST time there. All mama's should be able to sit in the nursery to witness how things are done and especially if it's a new place full of strangers. We will not be going back because of this. I liked how they have a secure check in with the kids' classes, but the expectation to fully put blind trust in complete strangers just because it is a church building is not okay. Very weird/unfriendly vibes.

Jesus changes everything! NextGen Youth group meets Wednesday nights for Middle & Highschool. Clear and simple spreading the gospel to all by being rooted in God word The Bible. Highly recommend! Check out their great app for additional information.

I always pass by this one on 281 heading to Cornerstone. I would like a church closer to home. This AM, I jumped onto Hillside's live stream to check it out. They are taking communion. The guy leading it, Dave, said, "Do not take communion in an unworthy manner." What does that even mean? It's communion. Jesus never set conditions on taking communion. He just said do this in remembrance of me.

I had a similar experience before with a famous church. I am not Catholic, but some of my family were so I would go with them. I was told after the service if I don't know how to take communion properly, then I should not take it at all. It was because I apparently didn't cup my hands correctly.

Why do churches do this?

UPDATE: Maybe I didn't hear it, but the context of 1st Corinthians 11 wasn't there. It was presented as you are a sinner and examine yourself before taking communion, aka, you are unworthy of taking communion. Picking apart scripture isn't right. The whole context 11:27-32 should be presented, not just a piece of it. The context is to take it in remembrance of Jesus everytime. If you just take it without doing that, then that's the sin.
