Our experience was very positive. We were greeted by a gentleman who took our name and directed us to the appropriate applications for our needs and where we could sit to fill them out. A woman came by a few minutes later and asked if we needed any help or had questions about the application. The application was straightforward and not very complicated. You can go on the website and find out what paperwork you need to bring with you ahead of time. I also called before I went in and asked what paperwork I needed to bring and so I was prepared when I arrived. We were fourth in the sitting area and were seen and done fairly quickly.

My experience with this department has been a ridiculous disappointment. Monica Hinojosa made the process stretch out almost 6 months when it should’ve only been 45 days. I was promised assistance every week and reassured that the check was being printed and would be sent out every Friday for the last six weeks. I sent numerous emails, voicemails, text messages to Monica Hinojosa and they were never replied to. Now I’m stranded and the funding NEVER was approved. The county let the landlord I wanted to rent from Cancel my request for assistance on my behalf WITHOUT my knowledge and now I have nothing ! I waited months for assistance and promised my landlord the assistance was being processed but it was all a lie. Just horrible work ethics and for someone going through DV issues this only makes it so much worse! Don’t depend on them

They should replace most of the people that work here. They're more interested in getting a paycheck than helping the less fortunate.

Worst experience ever seeking help with local services, the way they speak is very poor consideration to people's situations. The space for this building of government community agency is such a contradiction to its own mission or reason for being called a county gov office of community agency support services.

Don't waste your time with this agency. Don't really have the desire to help people. I applied for assistance with my electric bill, and they told me that the approval of my application would 45 days. My bill is due before then so what's the point? Don't waste your time and energy coming here for services. They're not really interested in helping people. They are a bunch of liars and hypocrites.

Not only do they make you bend over backwards. But do not help at all. Want you to literally do thier job. If they could they would probly make you I put all the information on their end. They are rude and take forever. I have applied since February. They kept asking for more information and more information. Then I finally got "approved" and was supposed to get help this past month. We'll that didn't get paid and going on another month of no payment. So .y question is where the hell are all the funds that were supposed to be available to us? They act like your personally asking them for the money.

Bad management. It took more than six months to get a response. Finally after countless emails and calls got a response but they would not help because by that time I had changed companies. I had to start the process all over again and was told to wait another month before appying again. I started trying to get help in March and did not get help until the end of October. Even though I qualified to get the more help because of covid, I could not because the program ends in December. They did help in the end, but it was too little too late!!!
