Of all the charities I am involved with and donate to, this one is my favorite. They run a VERY lean operation in order to maximize the assistance these families receive. I have been a volunteer with this charity for 7+ years and have watched them go through their ups and downs as ALL organizations do. The leadership and staff evolved over the past couple of years and is stronger than ever. They are giving more assistance to the families today than ever before, and it continues to grow. I have every confidence that the hard-working, caring people that run the show at Heroes for Children will continue to lead the organization in the right direction and that families will get the assistance they need when they need it the most.

12 years ago our 15 year daughter was diagnosed with cancer. It was the most difficult time of our lives but we knew we had to stay mentally strong as we fought this disease. One way for her to stay strong was to stay connected to her friends and participate in school which she loved. We only had one computer in our house at that time. One day Heroes for Children showed up at her hospital room with a laptop through their Laptops for Love Program. They were such a blessing and we could not have been more thankful for Heroes helping her stay connected. We still have that laptop today so we never forget and we are happy to have been able to give back over the years since.

I’ve had the opportunity to get to know the HFC organization unlike most ever will. They are a group of kind, passionate, responsible, and hardworking folks who love making a difference in the community. Are you going through a crisis with your child after a cancer diagnosis? Perhaps the best kept secret is that after being beaten down by cancer they make it easy and hassle free to get help. Are you looking for a non profit to support right here in Texas?
