I've known the ministry that is Hands for 15+ years. They were trustworthy in repairing our many vehicles over the years, and it was great knowing that the proceeds were going to help single moms and widows with their own car repairs. I just recently needed to donate an old vehicle that had no chance of making it back on the road, and Hands was quick and easy to come get it from our driveway, and I know the money they will get from salvage is going to help those single moms with more repairs!

Jason was our tow-man who not only picked up on time, but was incredibly personable and flexible as we were setting up a time. Communications back from the administrative team were equally clear and friendly. If you're looking for a win-win scenario with an old car, I can't underscore the mission and purpose of this crew enough! They are great to work with!!

This is a wonderful organization, ran by truly honest and sweet individuals. My vehicle needed a lot of work and they were willing to help at a great price and were honest with the state of my vehicle and were still we’re willing to work on it!

I have gone back to them twice for small requests- 1 wiper replacement and an extra set of eyes and ears when I thought I had heard odd noises of the alignment and they gladly took me in quickly despite how busy I know they all are.

I appreciate the whole team from donors, admin to the mechanics. Without an organization like this It would have been a challenge this Winter with a toddler on the bus/train, I am so grateful!!!

Thank you:)

I have donated three vehicles to the Hands organization over the past couple years. In my case, the vehicles still had some value but I didn't want to go to the trouble of selling them as they were older, higher mileage vehicles. Also, I like that fact that I could donate something of value for a great cause. The whole process was painless and easy to set up. They dutifully followed through with documentation of the donated values after they disposed of them. The next time I have a used vheicle to get rid of, I won't think twice about involving Hands of the Carpenter in the process.

Hands is such a blessing to our community! We donated a vehicle to them and the process was incredibly smooth, efficient, and such a joy to know we were helping someone in need. We will definitely be recommending them to everyone we know that has the option to donate a vehicle.

The process to donate a vehicle to Hands of the Carpenter is very easy, smooth and painless. I brought my truck and the title in, they took a look at it, verified the VIN, helped me fill out all the paperwork, and mailed the form I forgot to sign back to me, postage-paid, I believe, which I signed and mailed back that day. I also received a document showing the amount that it got in an auction for my tax-purposes. All I really had to do was show up with the truck and the title. Hands took care of everything else!

We recently donated our van, the process was so easy. They picked it up with their tow truck. Loading and the paperwork took less than 30 minutes. We love that the money from the vehicle helps women and families have safe, reliable vehicles.

I wish I could give 0 stars In June 2024 I waited over 3 weeks to have my car towed to this establishment because it was overheating so badly I was afraid to drive it. After they towed it, they inspected it and said that several things were wrong including 'a noise in my engine' I completed all repairs and finally got my car back. I drove it down the street and it still overheated. I took it back and they said that my head gasket was bad and that was what was causing my car to overheat. They quoted me around $2700 to fix this head gasket even though they 'normally don't work on engines' I was adamant that it is NOT a head gasket and asked them to please replace other things to see if it would be at least drivable. They refused saying it's definitely the headgasket. I even talked to the head lady margarita, and she said 'didn't the state pay to have your car fixed?' while I was complaining that my car was STILL overheating. Another garage looked at it and said it was also the headgasket. But I was still adamant that it wasn't. There was no smoke. Someone finally changed the thermostat for me and it fixed ALL my overheating issues instantly. This is supposed to be a charity for single moms and they highly took advantage of me. I really really thought I'd be in good hands they focus on single moms. Most single moms I know don't know anything about cars, so we rely on trustworthy mechanics to help and they greatly failed me.
