Absolutely beautiful Hidden gem! Do not wear flip flops. Definitely bring water shoes and wear some type of shoes with great traction! Going down the steep hill to get there is fairly easy . However you may be sore after for a few days if you’re not active . Bring float to float on. Water is absolutely beautiful!!

We really enjoyed our time here. Parking is very limited. You have to purchase a day use pass at the machine by the bathrooms, or you can use your NP Access hangtag.

We were lucky to find an open shady spot immediately and when we left we saw people walking down 89-A because they had to park further down the road. We were able to sit at the table and eat lunch, then hiked the short but steep, rocky hike to the creek.

The creek area wasn’t too crowded and we found a nice spot to get some space from others. We went in late August and the creek was chilly but refreshing. We just dipped our feet in but there were people swimming further down.

There are brown spiders who are very curious so if you sit on their rock, they’ll come out to see. Be careful, the rocks underwater are slippery. I would also recommend bringing a padded seat or blanket to sit on because seating was a little uncomfortable.

Overall, we had a great time, but prepare yourself because the bathrooms were DISGUSTING! We weren't able to use them because they smelled terrible, there was some sort of liquid all over one, 10+ flies around the toilet bowls, and later we also heard someone come out saying there was poop everywhere.

If you want to avoid the crowd then this is the place! The creek access needs a steep downhill descent. Challenging for seniors and unfit people ?

Went to this beautiful picnic spot for a hike and to relax after a log drive. We parked a 27 ft RV in the parking lot it fit we just had to adjust it properly because the parking spots weren't that big but it was doable. The view was breathtaking, there were families w kids and dogs. The hike is pretty easy and not too hard to walk it down to the water. You can fish but you have to throw it back in the water, also saw a narrow headed snake when we got to the water (non poisonous), there is bathrooms and picnic tables and grill to use. It's pretty clean so please keep it clean. There is trash bins to throw away waist. We hiked about 4 miles before turning around, it was our first time there and we wanted to go to slide rock park. Now if we knew the area good we would of found out that during our hike to the left if we walked probably another 1/2 a mile we would of been in the slide rock park because nothing is closed off. We ended up finding out after we paid $20 for the park and went hiking, We ended up hiking to the right of slide rock far enough to get back where we were at the picnic spot. The water was cold of course and while we hiked there was plenty of sun and shade.

We skipped Slide Rock State Park and stopped by this place (2mins drive up from there). $3 parking. Beautiful rivers with short but steep trail (good shoes required). Good for picnic or dip/soak the water.

Clean pit-toilets (but no sinks) available.
Parking is $5 and can only be paid by card (Red Rock Pass).
No overnight use / camping allowed, though I feel like people are still doing it due to how crowded the nearby campgrounds are.

Beautiful area. Make sure to wear good shoes, the trail to the creek is steep. Get there early as parking goes fast. A natural beautiful spot. The scenery was breath taking.

Two words. Freaking amazing. Found this spot while trying to get away from gentrified Flagstaff. Stopped to cook some lunch up and found a route everyone was taking down to the river. The path is slightly treacherous but the pool at the bottom makes for perfect summer swimming.

Do note that you cannot park on the side of the road and must park in the designated area. State troopers are patrolling and will give you a ticket/tow your car.
