I would not send my WORSE enemy there, habitat is a FRAUD! They prey on 1st time home buyers. They had me sign two mortgages and didn't tell me that amount would go on top of the asking price. Plus they haven't paid insurance on my house since 2019 but are still charging me for it. How is this legal? I have repeatedly asked for mortgage statements I receive spreadsheets instead. I had a series of life changing events which caused me to fall behind. I was forced into two bankruptcies because habitat denied me multiple times for a modification stating that I already had one. Only to find out this year they were wrong. From the 1st bankruptcy habitat requested $27,000 they received a total of $18,989.00 in 2020. I refilled again in November 21, now habitat is stating that I now owe $49,102.19. The majority of these charges are insurance that was included in my monthly mortgage payment. However, to-date habitat does not and hasn't maintained a policy on my house since 2018. Currently i have insurance on my house. Habitat is still including these payments in with the monthly payments. When I found out that there was no insurance, once I became current on my mortgage I requested a refund for the insurance that hasn't been paid since 2018. Habitat hasn't adjusted the amount I've already paid which included the insurance!

I will be honest... I will continue to try to apply for a house through this program but the info sessions need to be at a more central location and moved back a half an hour (6:30 pm) so that people getting off work and have other afternoon responsibilities can attend. I work downtown Columbus on East Broad Street and live on the East side near Nelson Road. I get off of work at 4 pm but I am a single mother of 3 kids so I still had to pick my kids up and get them home, dinner and left at 5 pm thinking I could out beat that second wave of rush hour traffic. Needless to say due to Ohio State Fair traffic and 71 S. traffic in general I got there at 6:05 pm. Doors were locked with a sign saying that they start promptly at 6 pm and to try to attend another training. All that gas (at almost $3.00 a gallon), time spent in traffic to get there and the ride back was a very saddening blow for someone living in poverty and doing the best they can to survive and better their future. This needs to be address by whomever made up this rule and picked this particular location.
