Ordered takeout from Guru’s and was impressed by the food. We ordered a vegetable biryani, bengan bhartha, and a chana masala. Asked for spicy and spice level was great. Love that they have vegetarian and vegan options. Portions were large, everything was tasty.

I am sorry to write this but, ate lunch today at Guru's. We arrived at about 1:10 p.m. Guru's advertise their buffet is from 11-2. This buffet should be fresh, with as much variety available for the whole 3 hours. It was not. A veggie and shrimp dish had about 1 serving left in the pan and the shrimp was like rubber and tasteless. Several other of the buffet dishes were much the same and not really edible. The buffet was not well appointed for the 1 to 2 p.m. customer. I assume the owners are trying to avoid waste. However, this should not be at the expense of the customer, who deserves to have a good, fresh selection of food for their $16. The restaurant should absorb any loss, if their is any, NOT the customer. Vegetables are the least expensive food items one can buy and it was mostly veggie dishes that were negligible and/or had been on the hot table too long and not edible. We paid, but did not tip. We will be back, but will come earlier hopefully to assure we get a decent meal for our money. I have had great food here before. Today it was not.

I could kick myself for waiting this long to not having ordered here sooner.. Asian food hasn't crossed my mind since the Chinese in town is absolutely terrible, and the Thai place isn't great either (the Thai food truck is decent though).. Guru's is on par with any big city Indian food I've had, and I'm a picky eater.. glad I finally found what will probably be my favorite new restaurant in Montrose, hands down.. generous portion, one order with appetizer is plenty for two meals.. I ordered the Chicken curry & Dal soup with chicken.. the chicken is great and really nice flavors, well done thank you!! PS the reviews complaining about service need to just shut up & order to go..

Great food and service. I forgot my glasses and they kept them for me until we could return to retrieve them four days later. We'd love to go back the next time we are in the area ❤️

Got samosas watch were hot and delicious, so good I got another order! The chicken vindaloo was perfect! Lots of tender chicken, perfectly stewed tomatoes, and nice soft potates. We just randomly found this place (we're here from out of town) and I'm sure glad we did! It had plenty of options for all the different dietary needs of our group, which is hard to do. The atmosphere was cozy, and the plateware was even cool! Very highly recommend.

The dinner here is great but the buffet is pretty basic. I've been several times and there are never samosas and the chicken masala is not like the dinner portion. The chicken in the masala is different and tastes funky. Maybe they're using a cheaper chicken for the buffet portions which is unfortunate because you still pay a dinner price to get it. Hopefully some improvements to the buffet happen and this rating will deserve an upgrade too.

The curry is very good. The garlic and normal naan is fine but the cheese naan is pretty bad. I think they use American yellow cheese in it and I've never been more disappointed in a cheese naan. I will say that the vegetarian sampler is wonderful even if it is definitely too expensive.

The service isn't that great either in my opinion. The server tended to disappear into the back and it can take a little while to get their attention. I feel like it is a staff shortage since they no longer offer the buffet even though it is blatantly advertised on the front of the building.
I've been here twice but don't expect to go back.

We had the lunch buffet. The food was absolutely delicious. They refilled the food frequently so there was very minimal waiting if you wanted more of something. I highly recommend this place!
