I found the Leader of the Herd training to be incredibly fulfilling and helpful. Anyone who leaves a 1-star review who hasn't even attended the training should be dismissed, honestly. This was fantastic, and a rare opportunity to connect with other foster parents as well. Fostering is not for the faint of heart, and this training reinforced knowledge I had through previous education and experiences, and taught me many new concepts as well. Connecting with the horses and ponies and donkeys was also incredibly sweet! The trainers/facilitators/counselors were fantastic. My nervous system was so much calmer and my mind even more open after attending this training!

I attended a session at Groundwork Ranch yesterday with my coworkers. It was an amazing and impactful experience. I wish every parent could experience the amazing work that Dave and Lottie do everyday. If you are a caregiver to children, do not hesitate to call them! My wife and sister both went to learn additional skills and techniques on helping foster children. Instead they both left in tears questioning why they should keep helping children in need. No positive feedback, no reinforcement, and trying to act like treating a wild horse was anything like helping a traumatized child in the foster care system. After 5 years and almost 50 children coming through our home, they made these two selfless people want to quit fostering all together. Unfortunately, I did not attend this "training", nor did I have the opportunity to call them on their bull$#!t. This "program" isn't worth the free price or the time wasted. Definitely would not recommend to anyone who wishes to continue being a kinship or foster parent.

What an honor it was to come out to the ranch and learn about the programs they run. I highly recommend this place as it is a very creative approach to understanding the effects that self regulation can have on children that you are caring for, plus MANY other connections discussed to bring this program full circle. This is an amazing opportunity that people really need to experience for themselves!

I have visited Groundwork Ranch twice and loved every moment spent with their horses. Lottie and Dave are amazing and extremely knowledgeable therapists. I can't wait to go again!
