Greenhouse does a variety of things in addition to the food bank, which is helpful. They offer clothes, toiletries, and bicycles if you are willing to put in a few hours of volunteer work. They offer classes, and information to other local services that can help out. They have a huge thrift store with really nice things at great prices. They are a faith based ministry but I do not think that is a requirement of receiving assistance!

When I went there they call me in for the interview I told them my partner was in bathroom . Ask me if it was my wife and I said we wasn't married. Then asked me if I had a church. I told him that at this time because I left the one I used to go to. They were more concerned with my relationship with God then giving me food. I asked why she was preaching to me when I was there for because I felt you live right and treat people right and do right and had your own relationship with God that was good enough. She told me that was not. I told her I wasn't going to let her tell me what my relationship was like with God and if it was good enough or not. I decided I didn't want the food bad enough to listen to her tell me what my relationship was with God and that it was not good enough to get to heaven. All I needed was some food. So I told her I didn't eat her food that bad and I was leaving. I didn't know you had to have their beliefs and their Church to get food. She told me as I was leaving that I needed to read the book. I told her she needed to read the book herself and not have someone read it to her. She was an older lady so maybe she was old-fashioned. Maybe she didn't like the fact I was not married. I really don't understand what the issue was but I wasn't going to be preached to. She seemed to get upset and not want to stop telling me that my relationship in my belief was not good enough. So I left.
