This Council does its best to provide a safe and fun scouting experience for kids of all ages. I have seen firsthand the blood, sweat, and tears that are contributed every day into making the BSA the outstanding organization it is. If you've had a bad experience with a troop, I send you my condolences, and highly recommend you try again with a different troop. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find a group that works for your kid, and sometimes you have to push your kid to do hard things when they wanna back out (like dishes), but it's worth the friendships and experiences they will eventually get out of it and the tough, upstanding adult they will become. Thank you Greater Colorado Council for everything you've done for my family.

I am surprised to see the lower Google rating, as they have been amazing for our family of scouts. The staff at this site have always been so helpful and kind. I do wish that the Denver area was more active in scouts, as the Atlanta Area Council was, but they do their best with the interest they have here. I think that many families just camp on their own, not understanding all the values that are learned with the scouting program. We have many wonderful leaders in the Greater Colorado Council!

Me and the wife blindly enrolled my son in cub scouts. I guess we thought it would be more hospitable than what we got. We paid the $180 or whatever it was and got a text from some guy related to the organization to get him into the proper pack. We had a ton of questions for the guy but he didn't have alot of answers. I told him that we don't know anything about it but would be helpful if they had like a pack host person or someone to get the new people pointed in the right direction. Seemed like his main focus was getting me to volunteer. I then call someone at the main office asking if I could get my $180 back because we have no idea what is going on and I got put on hold for 30mims then hung up on. So we paid $180 to get the run around. My son was really sad cause he wanted to join the organization. If you know how things work and where to go at what times and who to talk to about the events and whatnot it'd probably alot of fun. But if you don't know what's going on and expect to be helped out getting started then good luck. They just.took my money and didn't do a thing for my son. Shame Shane Shame.

And goes to show wrote this review months ago and they have nothing to even say about this. No response at all. The same as when I gave them the enrolment fee. They took it and not another word. This organization Is going down hill quickly

Me and my son were invited to a pack meeting in Superior for pack 278 to see if me son would like to join and participate. I was in Boy Scouts as kid and thought it would be fun to take him to a meeting to see if he would like it and judge how the pack was. I have never been soo unwelcomed uncomfortable and unpleasant. My son was repeatedly ignored when he raised his hand for a question and by the time we left I had to explain to him that’s it’s a private club and we probably won’t be back. I also need to cancel my application.

The Scout Shop here is terrific, with great staff and outstanding selection. Call ahead of time if you're looking for unusual items or large quantities, and they'll set items aside for you. Note: if you're a volunteer going there to get badges of rank, like any other shop you need to have the paperwork completed ahead of time and with you. Also, if you're a volunteer and the chartering organization is a nonprofit, take along their nonprofit IRS deduction letter so you can get tax deducted from your purchase.

The amount of absolute waste generated by this office was heinously disgusting for a group that touts itself as a leading youth conservation organization.

Edit: name has changed to Greater Colorado Council.

Boys scouts in general is great but the recent changes are something to wonder about and make a person question if it was the right choice. But all in all scouting is great and the scout shop is very good
