This church tries to make you vote how they want.

I was one of the students that entertained the bull crap for a short time. I was new to Fort Collins and going through a phase where I wanted to explore Christianity, Judaism, and the Muslim faith. Grace Christian Church ā€œministersā€ tried pressuring me into a lot of things I didn’t really want to do, most of which I didn’t commit to. I went to church to see what the leaders of the church were like and the second time I went was around the time of a state vote and federal election. The leaders of the church got on stage and insisted that God would want and has an EXPECTATION to vote a certain way and even went into detail on the Colorado statutes they were talking about.

Grace Christian Church: This is not an attack on the church, so do not try to use it as fuel in your sermons to trick more people.

Church Goers: Church and state are separate for a reason, if they continue to pressure their members to vote for a certain person and use God to deceive you, please report the church.

Report issues like these to the Internal Revenue Service using IRS Form 13909.

Best wishes,

Hi my daughter goes to Grace Christian church and has attended for more than 6 years and I have met many of her church friends. My wife and I actually go to a different church "Foundations in Loveland" but have visited Grace to get to know the staff (esp. when she first started going there to check it out). I have to say that my relationship with my daughter has been great (see her every week). I'm very happy for her, and many of her church friends are like daughters and sons to us. Not to say that all churches don't have weird & flawed people (life is full of them). I rate this 5 stars! The Church and its members have been a real blessing to my daughter and to our family.

Please don’t attend this church. I was a member of the church with many of the five-star reviewers who are on staff or have been members for over a decade. Do your research and check out the Collegian articles and support groups online because the specifics listed are also what I experienced. I was hesitant to leave a review at all, but I am doing so even if it dissuades just one person from getting involved with Grace Christian Church.

I love Jesus and want others to as well, so I don’t want people to have to sort through who God is after their experience with this church. I don’t think the majority of the members have ill-intent, quite the contrary, but they have ā€œsubmittedā€ to their ā€œspiritual authorityā€ and follow the leadership of flawed men versus relying on their personal relationship with Jesus and trusting God's direction for their life.

I have so much I could say about my experience as a church member, living with other members, tithing, attending prayer meetings, considering going on staff, and having connections with the Lanza’s, Miller’s, and Tomlinson’s. There were a few positive things I gained in my experience with the church, but the hardships that resulted from my time there were not worth it. Don’t go, or if you’re there, leave as soon as you can.

This church is like a family to me and I have so much love for the people I’ve met & gotten to know. I’m not a lukewarm Christian anymore and I’ve found true faith and deliverance through my time here at Grace Christian Church. I’m a single mom with a past life of hurt, pain, and mistakes… but those things don’t define me anymore because the Lord HAS and IS renewing my life. If the Lord can change my heart, he can change yours too! There’s hope here at Grace… I hope you’ll come check us out. šŸ™‚

I don't take reviews lightly. I'm not the type of person to flippantly give something a one-star rating without thoroughly examining all it has to offer.
However, I truly, truly hated my visit to this church.
First, the good--the people there were all very friendly. I can't say anything bad about them. I even bumped into an old acquaintance there and was glad to see he was going to church.
The worship was alright. They played a few good songs, but it was also very showy. So if you're adverse to pseudo-concerts, this might not be a good church for you. And now for the bad.
Let me sum up the sermon I witnessed in a nutshell: the pastor went up to the podium, read a few verses from the Bible, and then proceeded to rant and yell about the evils of religion for the next hour or so as the people who disagreed with him sat in horribly thick and awkward silence.
See, Grace is the type of church that runs away from the issue of religious tension by impetuously stating over and over that they are not religious. Although anyone even familiar with the concept of religion would know that all forms of Christianity are, by definition, a religion, Grace seems to think the best way to address the problems caused by many denominations or churches by repeatedly shouting, "It's not us! It's them! Look at them! We're the good guys!" You could easily get the same religious education by watching the "Why I Hate Religion but Love Jesus" video for one hour straight, only with better cinematography.
You will find nothing at this church that will enrich your understanding of Christianity if you are already a Christian. If you are new to the faith you might, but if that is the case, I also strongly recommend you do not attend this church.
One more thing--the pastor also stated during his sermon that communion is an example of mindless religion. So if you think it's a good idea to honor Christ through communion, you really shouldn't go here.
Sincerely,
A College Student Who You Failed to Whom You Failed to Minister

P.S. It's also a good idea to get people who are actually qualified to minister for campus ministry. I've spoken to several of them and have learned nothing.

Save yourself some mental health problems and look elsewhere for friends/faith. I was a member of this church for 5.5 years and that was, without a doubt, the most unhappy time in my life-but I didn't really see it until I was on the other side looking back. Pastor Chris is one of the most dishonest people I've ever met. Church members laugh at his jokes, feed his ego and look to him for approval, but he's a bully and nothing more.

I went to this church for almost 7 years. Grace Christian Church (GCC) is one of many affiliated churches that target the college demographic so there are a lot of people that only get casually involved and move on, but attendees are encouraged to become members and "jump into the church with both feet." When I started to attend GCC I was eager to connect with God and find direction for my life, so within my 1st year there I became highly committed to the church and made it and my relationship with God the top priorities in my life.
GCC and it's affiliated churches have a bad reputations in their communities and online, all of which they use as fuel to claim they are being persecuted for living holy and righteous lives sold out for following Jesus. Because of the way they interpret scripture the leadership feels fully justified in everything it has done and continues to do regardless of the damage it does to people. This line of thinking is supported by the way they emphasize having character, discipline, and in depth methods of studying scripture. These 3 things on their own are very useful and practical, but when combined with the political/social context of the community they function to manipulate and invalidate those who have been given less authority in the system. Because scripture says leadership is appointed by God and is held to a higher standard, those in leadership use this as a free pass as long as they are convinced that their words/actions line up with their interpretation of scripture. They use a lot of great words and ideas, but when put into practice end up habitually contradicting most of the things Jesus stands for.
Luckily for me, the tools they gave me to study scripture helped me to take my faith into my own hands and develop my conscience according to scripture in order to discern that something was seriously wrong with this community. The more I studied the Bible, the more my conscience grew until I had enough conviction that I should leave.
For those currently involved in GCC or any of its related churches I highly recommend taking your personal studies of the Bible very seriously and asking God to give you guidance for your life rather than taking the lazy way out and blindly trusting others to do it for you. At the end of the day it's your relationship with God that matters most and other people have a very limited perspective on your life / personal relationship with God.
If you're on the outside & trying to find a church please save yourself a great deal of trouble and look elsewhere

I spent about 4 years with Grace Christian Church (GCC) and lived with other members of the church. Look up the Facebook group called ā€œFormer Members of Faith Christian Church and it’s Offshootsā€. Ask random students at CSU what they think about Grace ministers. Look up Faith Christian Church (the mother church for GCC that got shut down). I would recommend picking a different church. There are many options in Fort Collins.
