I did not tour the institute but attended the October fest on the property (twice). It was fun! German beer and food, and the musical entertainment was good... especially the band that did popular songs originally recorded in English but they sang in German. They were very upbeat and engaging. Fun time.

We love the Germanic American Institute. So much, we are getting married here in the fall. I appreciate that there hasn't been many renovations in the space. A cozy, warm mansion - especially during the winter months. Events put on are great and members receive great perks!

St Paul Oktoberfest 2023 was very nice. Entertainment was fun, good food, got there early enough so parking was not to bad. Best piece was the attending people, we sat next to a very pleasant and engaging couple. We shared experiences of travel, food and personal tips.

We tried "Christmas in Germany" for the first time. To be honest we felt like it was a huge rip off. We paid $40 for our family to get in to what was pretty much a craft fair. Then the prices of food and drinks were simply astronomical (almost $50 for 6 slices of cake), and yes I know that all the money goes to supporting their programming, but seriously this was excessive. I don't think we will be making it an annual holiday tradition. Nice location and lovely house though.

We attended the Christmas market with three generations. The did was good and the grand kids loved the music and the stories in the preschool. We all speak German and have missed the Austrian and German Weihnacht- Christkindlmärkte

Very cool way to meet people who study German, are German, travel to Germany, do business in Germany. We went for Deutsche Tage. Food was okay, but prices have gone up astronomically the last few years.

Great place with lots of good German fun. Was taken aback at the summer festival when we had to pay $10 per person to get a wristband, to buy beer. Our beers were $9 each so between two couples, we spent $76 so we could drink a beer and enjoy the festival. A bit ridiculous. I think there are other ways to raise funds.
