I walked out of the Friendswood library and a young teen white male confronted me and said for me to (go back to Mexico ), and yelled Trump , I ignored him , but please educate these young people that just because you look indigenous or Mexican does not mean your not from America, don’t just profile because someone looks different or has brown skin

7-9-24: well, so glad that the library stepped up and invited people to come and cool down and connect/ charge electronics, all because meany of us have no electricity because of hurricane Beryl. Additionally, this library is very well set up and organized finding all the categories a library should have - thank you for your kindness - BRAVO!

My favorite library to go to! I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. Staff welcomes you in and helps with needs. Plenty of places to study and plug in you laptop of phone. Well organized and easy to find what you need. Lots of places to sit as well! They also have a place to sit outdoors, a vending machine, and coffee maker. Definitely check it out 🙂

Excellent library. The people who work there are very friendly, helpful and intelligent. Love the makeover the actual building received, too! 🙂 5 STARS!

Really miss Cliff! 🙁

I have utilized Friendswood Library for 50 years! I'm having problems getting the books that I request (for about the past 5 months). Sadly, Friendswood Library does not have some of the popular cozy type mystery books in a series (will have a few, but not all) or sometimes don't have any. I have tried starting brand new popular series and starting older popular series. Their policy of only being able to have 2 inter-library loans out at a time is very frustrating to me because I read a lot. I do not have a tablet, and even if I did, I prefer to read a real book. When I go back to my reading history to see what I have read in a series, the ILL books from my series, at least most, are not there. No author and no book title. This makes it very difficult for me to keep up with where I am at in each series.

Hopefully, the library staff and I will be able to figure something out, as I am a voracious reader and need to be able to procure the books in the four or five series that I am reading more easily.
I was told today that I am "by far the patron with the most ILL book requests in." Like it is my fault that Friendswood Library all the sudden in the past 5 months or so suddenly don't have many of the books that I am requesting when I have not had this problem in the first 49 years.

When I turn in an ILL request electronically, I get an email back from library staff that they have my request and are working on getting the book for me and will let me know when it arrives. So at that point, I forget about it. I had NO idea until about a month ago that requests were just sitting there. I was emailing the library to try to find out why I had not received certain books. Certain other non-fiction books I had totally forgotten about.

There is not an electronic list in order of when I requested books, but rather slips of paper without any dates of request on the slip, and that the slips have just been sitting there. Now I have to try to figure out which books to get next out of the slips of paper with no dates on them.

I have spent an inordinate amount time TRYING to find new series to read of which the library will have all or most of the books in a series, old or newer, and I am having ZERO luck with that. I am very frustrated because I have chronic fatigue and the little time that I have energy is being used up by trying to get books that I want to read.

Will update again when, hopefully, a solution is found.
