I applaud the church for trying to live their values in many ways. As it relates to homeless services, their efforts have had a hugely negative effect on neighbors, of which I am one. The number of homeless people in the area has skyrocketed and they are now living in the surrounding blocks... I've had people sleeping in my backyard, deficating in my bushes, doing drugs on our street. As a father of 3 daughters, I am angry that their good intentioned efforts have had the unintended consequences of making me less safe in my home and neighborhood. They should shut down their homeless programs and donate money to a county service that can provide more comprehensive 24-7 services.

This has to be the worst experience I've ever had dealing with homeless services. The head of the department, the program's manager is an anti-black misandrist. Who holds contempt for black men and holds us to the lowest standard.Despite being a woman of color. They treat your suffering like a joke. They also job shame you if you do doordash or Uber to make ends meet. Don't bother with the tiny home program they've bend the rules to select who they want.

I'm brand new to the area. A month and a half, in from Los Angeles. The people of this church not only have a 50 bed shelter, they pretty much have a full (winter time) service for the homeless.
It is an awesome program that I haven't seen a complete as one.
God Bless you First Pres; your people got the message when Jesus said to feed, clothe and give hope and security to the poor.
Very organized and efficient programs.
Only wish it were all year round.

Amazing church full of the love of God. People here are from many diverse backgrounds and it feels like family. New people are welcomed sincerely and with respect. The people love God and strive to serve our community, like Jesus did. The sermons are always Bible based and rooted in Jesus' gift to us, dying on the cross to take away our sins and give us life abundantly. Spanish is spoken as well. Don't come if you only want religious stuff. Come here if you want to follow God's call to live a life full of love and joy.

The people there show you so much community love and sharing as well as caring. They do for people in their Church and all the community, especially the homeless and needy. I have never seen a Church that does so much to put together what they can for the homeless and hungry. The Sunday Breakfast is out of this plain !! You walk in and they ask you what kind of Omelet you want and I always get it loaded with all the fixings. They have waiters that come to your table and serve you your Omelet. You also can pick Biscuits and Gravy,Oatmeal,Pancakes,Bacon,Orange Juice,Coffee and much more.I t does not matter what Nationality or If you are Needy and on the streets, they make you feel like your human and count as a human even if your disabled your alive and not invisible !! Thank You First Presbyterian for all you do.... ? ?. ♿. . ? ?. ?

I've known of this church for a long time. They provided an after school program when my children attended a local elementary school, and they learned lots of good stuff including crafts. This was a few years back.
Now, I've learn that the church run a winter shelter for the houseless people in our community. Providing them with a place to come and have dinner, spend the night, and have breakfast in the morning.
First Pres Church also has a resource center to help with certain needs of their guests. There's many good things happening at this church!!
Praise God!!♡

Great church with a multitude of services being offered to not only members but the needy and homeless...currently a full time warming shelter is being ran to serve 50 persons without shelter.,laundry and shower services provided by church on behalf of" Dignity on Wheels"an organization whom provides mobile laundry services and showers to those residents of the shelter.Tiburcio Vasquez also provides a mobile medical and dental clinic for the residents once a week faithfully. Early. Every Sunday morning as the shelter closes for cleaning duties the residents are offered a bagged hot to go breakfast then residents are required to vacate church property and allowed to return at 10 am for clothing donations, housing navigators.working on employment apps.and computers are available also, meals are served daily with much love and care from staff whom are employed to oversee the general welfare of the residents of the shelter. The Tiny Homes are up and running with a new group of residences enjoying their tiny homesSo many positive and very needed services are being ran and diligently serviced for those whom are homeless/.. The older folks who started this church have been cleverly pushed out the door. Several of them live in the complex where we have resided nearby. These faithful Christians held to the true Bible, including forgiveness of sins through Christ on the Cross.
There is no real freedom without repentance from what the Word of God clearly lists as sin. Jesus loved us so much, He died for us. And He said to the woman, "Go and sin no more"...
Jesus preached: "Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." (it wasn't just John the Baptist). Check out Gateway Bible Church in C.V. at the Creekside school, or First Covenant Church in the Oakland hills. Maranatha!
