Fascinating! Fun place to visit and spend as much time as you have. It is the site of the William Pittenger House, which can also be toured. Pittenger received the Medal of Honor for his participation in "The Great Locomotive Chase" during the Civil War. The event was made into a movie by Walt Disney around 1956. Pittenger moved to Fallbrook and lived there until his death in 1904.
