This was our first time in Colorado. Beautiful little town, nice people and not too far from Breck. However when you come in Winter and you are lucky enough to have snow, i would not recommend staying in fairplay if you want to enjoy Breck.. it was sometimes dangerous on the road, mostly at night to get bavk to our rbnb.

Made a short trip to the area recently. The scenery was beautiful. I'd like to go back again this spring. The air is thin and the UV rays are wicked. Wear your SPF and drink plenty of fluids.

This place is beautiful! It gets crowded on the weekends but I scored a waterfront campsite on a weeknight and it was perfect. Close to the parking lot but still secluded, and you can take the footpath downtown for dinner or groceries. And the price can't be beat. I almost want to keep this place a secret!

What a beautiful and serene location. It is nestled in the mountains right in the town of Fairplay. It is tucked down to where you get natural views and not just the town. It has good, clean outhouses. One was portable and two are permanent, a selection of walking trails and picnic tables along them. There is even a picnic shelter with good trout fishing.

The beach moniker is a bit confusing for an out-of-towner like myself, but the numerous pictures reveal its true nature. A simple parking area along the shore of the river, but those in-the-know park in Fairplay and walk over. A small bridge allows you to cross to the "beach" side, and walk a bit more along the water. Families wade into the stream at points, and the cool mountain water can be both refreshing and shocking, especially to Colorado foreigners.
