I recently visited this food pantry, which is hosted at a church, and was disappointed by their strict “no kids” policy. As a single mother, this makes it extremely hard for families to access much-needed help. My 3-year-olds were quietly waiting nearby, not causing any issues, yet an attendant came up when we were almost done and told me children aren’t allowed because they might “open packages,” which wasn’t happening. Even another woman using the pantry agreed that the rule is unfair. For a service run by a church, it’s surprising that they don’t show more compassion or flexibility for low-income families who are obviously already struggling. I hope they reconsider this policy, as it feels far from the community-oriented, Christian values they claim to uphold. There was no sign posted about this policy, and nothing mentioned online before we made the trip, so it seems like this "no kids" rule might just be a verbal one. Parents should be aware of this before visiting.
The posted hours for this pantry are 1-4, we were there at 1:15 and everything was almost gone. We will not return.
