We rented the Clubhouse for my in-laws 50th Wedding Anniversary this past weekend. The venue was PERFECT for this event. Very affordable and the staff was very generous with their time and assistance in making this part a success. Jennifer went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. She was very responsive and available to our needs. If you are considering hosting an event at the Clubhouse don't hesitate....it was wonderful and affordable and we got top notch service.

*** time for an update*** I’ll leave original review below. The course is in excellent shape!!! There are some bunkers that need more sand no doubt, that is the only knock on this course right now. IT IS IN GREAT SHAPE and we just finished a round in less than four hours here on a Sunday morning. We left Memphis National as members and will be playing here more often now, if they keep it up I’ll continue to update the stars/review. The staff here is still great. Greens are rolling so true and pure now.

I’ve lived in Oakland about 3 miles from the course for 2 years and play golf at least once a week, usually two or more times… but Fair Oaks is so poorly managed I rarely ever play there. It was 62 and sunny today and per usual, their driving range was closed, it’s closed more often than it is open. Whenever I play here you can nearly guarantee it’s going to be 4+ hrs and waiting all day long on the course because they jam it pack full of tee times. Last year, 2023, the course was noticeably worse condition than it was in 2022. It would be a one star review but because the people are nice and they have a decent clubhouse for snacks and drinks at the turn, they get 2 stars. I WISH THEY WOULD OPEN THE RANGE MORE AND STOP PACKING THE SCHEDULE. The track is easy and fun to play.

I Had Chicken Alfredo, the food was great and the service was better than expected and they are very kind and make you feel at home. The Filet Mignon was very good as well.

I am a patient of Mrs. Calandria at “In Her Hands.”
I am a disabled Veteran. I have problems with my back and my sciatic nerve. It get so bad at times it gets hard for me to walk. That was where I was when I was first introduced to Mrs. Calandria. I was going through physical therapy at the VA and they were sending me out through Community Care to have other test done on my back and nerves and they were not helping me. I then started seeing Mrs. Calandria at “In Her Hands”. Look to the hills from which cometh your help, my help cometh from the Lord. I was seeking the LORD and He heard my cry. My first session with Mrs. Calandria was when I was at my lowest and it was what my back needed. Mrs. Calandria found knots in my back and on my spine that was effecting my nerves. After my appointments and sessions with Mrs. Calandria, she had my back feeling better than it had ever felt. I paid out of my pocket for many sessions and it was worth every penny. Now she is contracted through the VA as a massage therapist and I went to see my Primary Care Doctor at the VA and he put in through Community Care for me to receive treatment for my back & sciatic nerve and they approved me. So to all Veterans and Active Military if you need to see someone for your back or a massage therapist please see Mrs. Calandria at “In Her Hands. She is great at her job, she has a passion, and she love what she do and she love people. Her business and establishment is A-1 and she is always thinking about the customer. She just added another healing room, to rest and relax the mind(healing mentally). She has everything you need to heal and her hands are anointed! Thank you again Mrs. Calandria and I’m so glad the VA has brought you on board to serve the Military.

First time playing this course and was pleasantly surprised. We had an 8:50 tee time on a Saturday and the staff are well organized and make sure everyone is getting off on time. The course is in great shape, greens were firm and fast. For a Saturday we didn’t have anyone waiting on us and we never had to wait either. This course is wide open and if the wind is kicking up makes for a challenge. Definitely will be playing it again soon!

Really O Stars but Google makes me choose at least one star to post.. Since the changing of management this place has gone downhill. Course not maintained as well. Current staff treat you as if it is a privilege for you to be able to play their average course. I played this course many times in the past under the old management. Always enjoyed playing there. Went there today to get in 9 holes and the folks running the pro shop treated me as if it were an inconvenience for me to play 9 holes. The 1st tee was stacked and packed. I was by myself and I can turn 9 holes in about an hour. Nobody coming up hole 8 or 9 so I asked if I could play the back nine.. You would have thought I was asking for a personal loan or something. They blew me off. Old management never had a problem with this as I have done it over a dozen times when by myself. They were happy to have the business as long as it did not interfere with anyone making the turn. I am a scratch golfer that can play very quickly and again NOBODY WAS ON HOLES 8 or 9. So since they basically told me today that they did not need my money, I will not offer it to them again. I will never set foot on the average to below average public course ever again.

I love this this golf course. It is in such great shape this summer, especially after the brutal winter and some damage from winter. Couldn't ask for a better place out in Oakland to play golf without having to drive into Memphis or even MS.
