Empower Yolo is a lying, dishonest, and anti-Father group. I know this 1st hand not from just 1 but 2 interactions with them. The 1st time they simply refused to help a Father of 3 even though I was directed to them by both the Court and CPS..they never returned my multiple phone calls. It took CPS contacting their Director before they coughed up an explanation as to why they refused to help a Father in need.

Second time they met with me, even though I didn't really want them to. I told them to their face about how they failed to help me. Their liaison apologized and promised multiple times she would NOT do that to me again.
Empower Yolo ghosted me a 2nd time. I never heard from them again.
They lied to my face! I wasn't at all surprised.

They defend bad mothers and do not support Court Orders or struggling Fathers or assist parents of abused children.

They play politics and are sexist - preferring woman over men.

They have a terrible reputation. From my perspective they mis use tax payer money by taking sides and NOT helping those in true need. ?

After building up the courage to call and ask for help 4 times now I have only been brushed off and given another number to have to build up the courage all over again You hear that there is help and after everything I have been thru I am emotional and physically exhausted I have been in an emotionally abusive relationship for 8 years I have lost everything my place to stay my car my job my self worth and struggle to get thru everyday and just needed some guidance and a safe place to start to heal and get my life back on track The hardest part about leaving is asking for help and I am just ready to give up I'm sure they have helped some people thru their crisis but the 4 times I have reached out I have gotten dismissed and left right back where I started from having to tough it out be abused and to keep going along with the bull s*** so that I can not be on the streets for good at least for a few days until he doesn't want me around again then the cycle will repeat anyways thanks for the numbers I will try to build up the courage and faith that someone will help me if I call back again thanks

I wanted to think long and hard about my review... so I will say this. Empower has changed my whole life! I came to them so broken and numb with three scared kids! I mean for me I came from a very Abusive husband so I had to shed those layers and change my mind set ...the staff here help with that.. the Therapy really helped.. ND having to get up and really put in work for housing and the program helped...I love all the staff! even the Director she is so very sweet..she feels like a mom to me ..lol I'm never going to forget the place who told me I can do anything .I can put mind too ...I'm never going to forget that they gave me the opportunity to grow into the person/mom i truly want to be.....SRY I FORGOT TO MENTION MY HOME Skillet biscuit MISS KAT!SHE'S MY DAY ONE STAFF MEMBER..she gave me the step by step on how to work really hard on the program and the step by step on how to get housing...i love all the other staff there also..when i use to sit in the Directors office and talk to her about how bad i feel about things not working out nd how i feel like a Failure.. she would sit back and look at me and say"you remember the person you we're when you came through that door?"and now you see the women you are sitting here in frount of me?!two different people! Got started in therapy but needed more time. Was cut off without getting the help I needed. So disappointed. I really worked hard to trust my therapist but it was for nothing.

It seems that they only selected people, I went to this office and I did exactly what they required and came back and no assistance: twice!
