I am disabled and a 60 yr old woman. Over the past years Efaa has been able to help me because of my limited income of $1300 a mo. I have not been able to pay for stuff like car repairs or a water bill at times. Now the funds have dried up due to Boulder being a "sanctuary city" for these illegal immigrants. Their needs seem to come first above mine, and I am a U.S. citizen. This has been very sad for me as Efaa is the only place that helped me afford to stay in Boulder where my kid is and where my friends are. Over Christmas the turkeys and gifts go to the illegals before myself. I am not even informed on the times to pick up gifts. The food is very bad and expired and what little good food there is, the illegals stack their carts so high and steal it all because there is no monitoring of the food. Very sad.

EFAA does great things for lots of people. Their food bank is awesome! Unfortunately my experience with getting rental assistance from them was poor. I did not get the help I was approved for in time due to lack of communication. By the time I finally got a hold of someone after a few months of trying, I had moved so was no longer eligible for their assistance. The check had been addressed incorrectly and had never been changed like it was supposed to, so would've been delayed further if I was still eligible. Nonprofits often don’t have enough support so I feel for what is probably understaffing and work overload. To other folks reaching out to them, I would suggest going in person, calling, and emailing as consistently as possible in case the process is not moving fast enough for you to get the help you need in time.

And definitely check out their food bank! They have a great set-up where you can choose what foods you want which is a really nice experience—-getting to actually shop for your groceries 🙂

For a company that's supposed to care about people. Driving the efaa work truck down Nelson Road doing over the speed limit passing people in a double yellow no passing zone. Really shows good for your company keep up the great work

This place isn’t all cracked up what it’s supposed to be! If you’re not a migrant good luck because that’s all they help. They helped us by getting rid of the American people and putting an eviction on my record. They did a lot of illegal stuff as well so as soon as I get into my new place, I am going to see a lawyer and getting this place shut down. Migrant people don’t care what they live in, and their units are trash, mouse infested and roach infested. I don’t know how these places passcode

I am so grateful for your organization. I truly want to say thank you for helping me out with the remainder of my rent and for being so willing to help. I was at a loss not knowing where I was going to come up with the money. It’s hard to ask for help sometimes but you guys didn’t judge and were there to save the day. Thank you for all your help. Great organization.

This place is trash. They tell you they are going to help get you in a hotel and then help with a security deposit and 1st month's rent when you find a place. But they move you to a hotel outside your zone. Where then they won't help once you get accepted into an apartment. Then the county they put you in chases you around trying to take your kids because you won't tell them where you live, homeless or not, they have no legal right. Then they go to your work and get you fired from the only chance of stability that you had. Everything about EFAA is trash. They also work with traffickers to follow you around to try to kidnap your kids because they know your homeless. Beware of places like this. Bigger more sinister organizations control this place and places like this. Don't even associate your family with them.
