The Barr trail took me out on Wednesday afternoon. A badly broken ankle led to a rescue effort that I'm so incredibly thankful for. This search and rescue team was amazing!! Their ability to work quickly and with calmness really helped me to be at ease with the situation. It's hard to express your thanks in the moment, but I hope they know what heroes they are to me. I hope they are blessed in some way every time they go out to help in the awesome way they do!

My 15 year old son and I got turned around on Pikes Peak and realized we weren't going to be able make it down before dark. The gentleman on the phone was able to verbally guide us and we found our way back to a real trail at dark as we made our way to Barr Camp. The emergency services team found us and got us the rest of the way down about 11 30. These guys went way above and beyond being super servants, Ezekiel and I are so grateful for you Team 1 and Tim. I truly pray you blessed. Many thanks.

Outstanding team of a group of very professional and organized men and women. I visited during a member meeting to learn more about the organization, and was extremely impressed with the level of knowledge, training, gear, and vehicles this team uses. Extremely impressive.

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law were just rescued by these heroes on 8/12-13. A group of us hiked from Barr Trail in Manitou Springs to meet them at the Pikes Peak Summit (they drove). My SIL started down to meet us, but went down a completely wrong way, Devil’s Playground. She says that she immediately realized it was not the trail but it was too late. She started sliding / tumbling/ falling down. My BIL went after her and soon was in a bad situation as well. This was around 3 pm or so on 8/12. This rescue team and others around the area (Teller SAR, and others I believe) were soon on site. By 7:30pm, Alyssa (?) was with my SIL. By 9pm, Tim(?) was with my BIL. Soon others were with them AND they never left there side. My SIL was helicoptered out by around 6am on 8/13 (her birthday) after the team literally carried her down who knows how far to a place where she could be air lifted (ankle injury). My SIL even says that a black bear with her cub was around them. The team didn’t back away!!! My BIL was helped to climb (with climbing gear, not a hike) back to the summit...he reached around 11:30 am 8/13 The team stayed with him all the time!!! They are both back with us, bruised, scratched, soar, but alive! Not a single broken bone! Thank you God for being with them! Thank you God for these brave heroes from these teams that you sent to save both of them...true Angels everyone of them. Also thanks to Brian who called me and my wife all thru the night to keep us up to date on the rescue effort! A voice from heaven! These teams are awesome: they sacrifice so much: family time, vacation time, personal finances...and put their life’s in danger..to save complete strangers! Than you, thank you, thank you! God Bless and forever thankful from the Smith and Puente family!

I visited here to take CPR training. I found the instructor very knowledgeable and the training complete. Also, as volunteers, the S&R team provides a necessary, well coordinated service. I am glad it community supports such a valuable service.
