First experience..my beloved dog, Chloe, passed away…and we brought her to Dusty Plains. They were so comforting and genuinely cared. Next experience…brought all my pets in for shots. The time, conversations…they (the staff and Dr) listened and took their time….(I have never experienced such warmth and sincerity)…one of my little dogs who is always nervous was calm and relaxed…. My last experience….my beloved 15yo pup, Bucc “Bubbles” was declining rapidly. I knew it was his time to go but didn’t want to say goodbye. I wasn’t ready. Dusty Plains (Lindsey) and everyone we so empathetic and loving…..made the hardest day of my life, easier…and with such love. I will forever be grateful for their time and patience. I feel like this practice is straight out of an Andy Griffith show….the kind of place you dream about!!!! Five stars is not enough.

I just want to start by saying the veterinarian at this clinic was kind and great to both me and my dog, Ava, when we visited in September. However, my experience with the receptionist, Kelly, today was incredibly upsetting.

I called because Ava is experiencing a new, unrelated issue, and since I’m currently out of the country, I wanted to leave a message for the vet to see if they had any advice or recommendations until I could return. She’s with a sitter right now. Instead of simply taking my message, Kelly immediately questioned, “Well is anyone even with the dog?” and proceeded to act as if I was out of line for asking for guidance.

She also made a point to say that the vet had “only seen Ava once, five months ago”—as if that somehow meant I shouldn’t even be bothering them with my concerns. I tried to explain, but her tone was dismissive and unhelpful—so much so that I had to hang up.

I completely understand that the vet is unavailable at the moment and might not be able to respond right away, but a little basic professionalism and courtesy from the front desk would go a long way.

It’s unfortunate that such a great vet has someone at the front desk making clients feel like an inconvenience.

Best experience our kitty babies have had. Dr. Was so kind and gentle. And the assistants werefriendly and shouting to the babies. All three cats were great and calmer than ever at a vet.

We had to do one of the hardest things we've ever had to do and say goodbye to our family dog Lilu who meant the world to My wife and I and our kids.
She was truly our family.
Dusty plains was incredible during the process of saying goodbye, you guys showed care and love towards our beautiful girl.
We truly appreciate you and have found our family vet for our other two pups.
We are truly appreciative of Dusty planes and the entire staff.

I'm so glad we found Dusty Plains Veterinary! Doctor Atkins and his staff do a tremendous job and have never let us down. They've gone above and beyond in terms of coordination and sharing information when we've had issues with a breeders veterinarian, which was extremely helpful.

We love bringing our animal babies to Dr. Thom. He is always kind, caring and knowledgeable to help us out. He is definitely busy too, but finds time to help!

Condolences to him, his friends and family just learning about the loss of his Father. Also, knowing that his Mom's not doing very good either. Our blessings and prayers go out to them now and in the coming weeks.

What a special veterinarian.

I work rescue, and let me tell you Dr Atkins is a rare breed!

He understands animals. He speaks their language. He listens to them. He empathizes with them.He meets them where they are and he helps them.

If there is a reason he cannot help them…. Well, he will be honest with you about that sad truth.

I wish he was the average in veterinary medicine and I can say for sure, when he decides to leave animal medicine, it will be a very sad day for our furry friends!

Thanks Doc!
