The open sit sessions are great but they always end with a political sermon, and always pretty far left, like today. While it's Durango and to be expected, I don't think the Buddha would approve of all the politics after every sit session. I wish the dharma center was a no-politics zone. I don't go to meditate to have a democrat therapy session (and I don't want a republican one either).

I loved it here in past years when it was less crowded and have greatly missed the more intimate feel that the earlier, smaller locations had. Growth changes organizations, and while I much preferred it smaller, I also think the DDC's success is deserved and that it has attracted a lot of good people over time.

I love coming here for the community sits on Monday nights. The talks are full of good content and there is something calming about sitting in a room full of like-minded people in complete silence during meditation. The energy is beautiful and contagious.

The Durango Dharma Center is a very warm and welcoming space. The people there are relaxed and gracious. You will find many smiling faces on a typical Monday night 5:30 gathering!
