This place is a waste of taxpayers money as well as doing illegal things like refusing to give a person their birth certificate which they have in their possession

This place is a joke and needs to be defunded they are prejudice they want you to beg for services and they don’t care that you’re homeless even after having a permanent housing voucher.

DRC really helped my family get home. Their system works if you do your part. We first got connected to this place by going to Community Crossroads in Feb of 2023. My family had been paying for hotels for over a year and we were getting nowhere fast. By the time we got to them we had been homeless for almost 4 years. We met with them and they invited us to their center to do an intake the next day. We did the intake process and the whole staff was very kind. They treated our children well and explained the process to us. They helped us get our documents and gave us a referral to the Salvation Army. After 3 weeks we left the Salvation Army we went to Presbyterian Night Shelter. We were given the opportunity to get a housing and after a few months we were able to move in a new build in the area we desired to be in. Although I didn’t want to go back in the shelter it was a temporary setback for a major come up. I give all the Glory to God for his Holy Spirit guiding me and my family this path. We endured a lot along the way, but I’m grateful we made it to a house. It’s a blessing to see my children enjoying themselves in our new home.

Thank you DRC for helping us get home. We appreciate all you ❤️ The Taylor Family

The new building on Lancaster has no parking. The tell you to park at a store next door where they will tow your vehicle. Don’t waste your time. They string you along for months just to keep getting funding.

Went to get help with recovering lost documents. They were great on day 1 and helped me get my out of state drivers license back in a week.
Social security card sat in their offices for 4 monthsbwhile they failed to notify me and even told me it wasn't there on two separate occasions.
Finally had that and they promised to help me get my license switched to Texas. A month later the staff member who drives told her supervisor I cursed her out the week before and she wouldn't take me because I "cussed her out" the week before. because I told her I was under no obligation to move my trust from a street parking space the week before.

Someone should really think about hiring a new receptionist. She is absolutely the most dreadful person to speak to when calling in for information.
Everyone else there in person is fantastic!

Talk about rude and dismissive! I was speaking over the counter with one staff member yet another staff member (who was currently assisting someone else!) KEPT turning around and interjecting into my conversation to the point that I lost my train of thought and left with limited information. They were parrots... repeating THE SAME INFORMATION over and over again rather than answering my direct questions. I'd like to see their organization close its doors and have the money funneled to more appropriate organizations to expand or improve their services. SHAME that it's like this from the top down even the volunteers parrot information. Homeless doesn't mean deaf or dumb! Too bad negative stars isn't an available option...
