You have to educate yourself about their rules regarding fires. It seems that the fire cannot be over 2 ft above the pit nor can you teepee the wood to start a fire. This is why I gave 3 ⭐️'s for service. The camp host was a senior and was a tad too serious about his job. He proceeded to tell me that I was going to be responsible for the entire forest. I get his point, his delivery is what sucked. Overall the park is a good family place with the lake very close by.

This locale.
Is unmatched by any spot in it's forest in my opinion. It's a moderate drive. Most vehicles can make it, no views better than dogtown, fun for the loaners to the whole family. I highly recommend if you want some nature, to go here and enjoy it.

Dogtown lake & campground is difficult to access. I would not recommend towing a trailer or navigating a large rv to the lake itself. The gravel based access road is somewhat rugged and there are tough spots along the way.

There is no swimming in the lake. There are camp spaces available for rent. Fishing was allowed and the vaulted bathrooms were open. The bbqs were broken.

Great site. 2 miles entrance on a Rocky Road.
Everyone was friendly, and space from the next campers was sufficient. Hiking trails a lead to some amazing views.
A lot of Kayaking and motorized boats in the lake. Along with fishing.

Clean, easy to find, and a nice little lake to walk around and fish in. I wish they had a little bit better signage, but that’s the only complaint. Nice little walk with good views and wildflowers!

The campground is always very clean. Some spots are very open and spaced from your neighbors, lots of nice pull thru site as well. Even the farthest sites are just a block away from the lake.

Very peaceful evening solo camped just 50ft from the main Forest Road at a dispersed camping site a few hundred yards from the paved road 73.

Great place to enjoy the outdoors fishing...my only complaint are the inconsiderate people who go there with there paddle boards and kayaks. They have no respect paddling 20 ft from your fishing pole , over your fishing line or straight up paddle up to shore where your fishing poles are set up. This has happened 2 out of the last 3 times I've went. I won't be so tight lip next time they do it.
