Desert Highlands Administrative staff bent over backwards to help get my son moved from Palm Springs to Kingman for me. The couple weeks he has been there he has improved more in the couple weeks than he has the whole year. The staff is caring and very helpful. They threw a beautiful Mother’s Day luncheon that my son and I both enjoyed very much. I’m grateful & feel very blessed that my son is in good hands.

Thank You for being so kind and helpful to my dad! He enjoyed his time at Desert Highlands. He said all of the nurses and staff were very nice to him. Nurses were concerned right up to his discharge about his care. He is doing great!

NEVER send a family member here. My grandmother was there for less than 24 hours and got a bloody nose that turned into a blood clot in her throat. The staff only gave her tissues and left her to fend for herself. The nosebleed got so bad it began to cover her nightgown in blood while simultaneously going down her throat and choking. If my mother hadn't got to the facility when she did my grandmother might have died. She is now in the emergency room crying and very mad as is my mom at this care center. If you need a care center for your loved ones please choose one other than this facility.

I found my Grandmother in this facility after some family drama. After reading the reviews I was expecting a horror show. But it was not. I think it's as good a place as it can be with the monies it gets. It is not top of the line but it isn't a pit either. It has some high maintenance patients which seem to take a lot attention. All of the staff were very nice, helpful and compassionate. My grandmother had been there over 2 years and some of the staff genuinely cared for her. They answered my questions and made my visits as easy as possible. They never denied me access to her. I think there probably is a lot of turn over in the lower staff positions. But there were many that have worked there for a long time. Over all this place isn't terrible. It is what it is. A sad place where old people are put and too many are forgotten.

In our opinion, this place is horrible. My mom was treated terrible. Her purse was gone through and sensitive banking information was stolen. We had to file a police report and freeze her bank account access, at great hardship for her. She was left in soaking wet clothes and bed, completely neglected. We also suspect that the caregivers deliberately tried to scare and confuse her. We literally put her in her wheelchair, packed her up, and took her away never to look back. I would NEVER recommend letting a loved one spend even one day at this facility.

My mother has been in DH for about 4 years and I have really come to love the staff there. We have had a couple of issues at times but nothing that wasn't fixed. They listen to the family members wishes and are so caring to the people staying there. A place like this is so hard to be perfect but they try. It does not smell when you go in and everyone looks clean and fresh. I do agree with the food being cold. For as many heating units that you can get to hold food, I am somewhat shocked that they don't have one. Things have change a lot over the years and it has gotten so much better.

Do not send a loved family member to this facilty. The front office staff are deplorable. You have been warned. My grandmother was doing just fine until they isolated the residents due to covid and let her covid positive roomate crawl into her bed.unfortunately they are both gone now and the incompetent staff workers could care less. They did have a few genuine caring staff members but not enough to help save the many lives lost in this facility and that information can be obtained by duing a google search related to the major out break at desert highlands.
