Debut Theatre is simply outstanding. Under Lee and Gregg's committed leadership, Debut has played a formative role in our children's development into confident, capable and kind young people. Our two children (now teenagers) have grown up at Debut and have gained tremendous skills in teamwork, communication, problem-solving and improvisation beyond the technical proficiency they've gained in front and behind of the curtain. Debut's unique troupe structure fosters a well-rounded student of the craft and an appreciation of the diverse talents and contributions that go into a successful production. Lee and Gregg expect a high standard of professionalism and performance from the premier Players troupe and the kids always rise to the occasion, while forming lifelong friendships in the process. We are grateful to be part of such a supportive and dedicated community of awesome actors and families!

We have three children in our family, all who have literally grown up at Debut. We feel so fortunate to have had this positive experience as part of their childhoods. They have been given an outstanding education in the arts, both on the performing and technical side of the craft. But they have also gained personal skills like confidence, teamwork, dedication, preparation, poise, humor and overcoming challenges. Lee and Gregg have dedicated the past 32 years to young people and I am forever grateful that Debut has been a second home to my kids.

Debut has been my daughter's happy place for ten years. I recently saw a review mentioning Debut not being a safe place, I could not disagree more. Debut is one of the few places were all kids are treated the same and expected and held to the same standards. One of the few places that teaches their students comradery not competition. Debut Theatre not only teaches their students to be good actors, but they help make amazing humans.

My son is currently a Debut Player and has been acting with Debut for over five years. His experience at Debut has been far more than just acting. He's developed a strong work ethic, forged a dedication to the craft of acting through excellent direction, and has learned the importance of showing up for others. The owner made fun of my child’s weight, and told another staff member right in front of her, that my child was going to ruin the show. Very traumatizing for her, and we are absolutely disgusted at this woman’s behavior.

I love this place it has definitely fostered my love and appreciation for theatre. The people and environment are so comforting and welcoming. Debut has made me realize that I want to continue theatre throughout my life and it’s going to be hard to leave a place as special and unique as Debut.

We recently went to see A Little Princess at the Lincoln Center, put on by Debut Theatre. We were very impressed by the show, and even our young children were very entertained by it. It kept their attention the whole time! It cost about the same to take our family to see this play as it would to take the whole family to see a movie at the theatre & we would much prefer this. We will definitely go to whatever shows they put on in the future! Great first impression.

I love this place. I have been going here since I was six years old and I just recently graduated high-school and I have never been more sad to leave such a wonderful and impactful place. Debut gave me a place to grow and thrive as both an actor and a person. Thank you debut for being my home….Lee is very safe.
