In my opinion, after several years of membership, I have found that CBS a very good Bible study. Although sometimes workbook questions can be repetitive, I still learn a lot from the study. As a virtual student (on Zoom), I attend a men’s Monday evening class. Because most of my classmates are usually late, my classes normally don’t start on time and the result is that my classes usually don’t end on time. Instead of waiting for latecomers, my class facilitator could try to start the class as advertised and those that are chronically late could learn to be more respectful of the students that show up on time.

The first thing you need to be aware of is that CBS was started by Presbyterians. For those not studied in apologetics, Presbyterians are Calvanists. They do include and welcome all denominations for "anyone seeking the truth." The "truth" is taught in the Presbyterian interpretation of scripture. The rules of CBS, as stated by them, are, we cannot speak politics, bring up authors names or names of books, etc. We stick only to scripture. Good rules, especially since you're accepting and supposedly respectful of all denominations, right? Then why does CBS leadership get to use quotes from their favorite authors and ministers? I would say their rule is dishonest, and in the world we live in today of lies, we must be very clear. The rules should stage this on their website. "We believe in TULIP and teach from a Calvanist perspective. The members of CBS are not allowed to bring up politics, name authors, or ministers. The CBS leadership is allowed to quote authors and ministers from a vetted list of authors and ministers provided by the leadership of CBS." Why aren't the rules very clear?

Folks, if you, like me, are passionate about the truth. Or you know that it is impossible for any modern-day interpretations of scripture to be more accurate than the ancient Christians understood close to the time of Jesus, then this is not the Bible study for you. If we ate truly scriptural, then No One should bring in politics, authors or ministers points of view. Read only from scripture. That's true honesty.

My wife has been attending and involved with Community Bible Study for over 12 years and I am in my fifth year. The longer that I am involved with them the more impressed I have become. The organization’s work is excellent and it is all done in a caring environment. I recommend CBS to anyone who is interested in an in-depth Bible study. They have many different types of groups available. Groups for men, women, married couples, young adults, teenagers, just to name a few. Everyone is welcomed.

Community Bible Study is an international organization that offers caring in-depth Bible study in communities throughout the u.s. and the world. It is not sponsored by a specific Church, rather it brings people from many different Christian churches together in community to study the Bible.
I've been doing my Bible study through Community Bible study for more than 14 years and it has literally changed my life.
