Unfortunately my experience was not a good one. I don't write this with the intent to be vindictive, only to share what happened to my family. My 79 year old father was transported there after collapsing. He has a specific medical history that was noted by the emergency department and that I reiterated to 4 different staff members while I was with him.

He was required to stay overnight. I was able to leave work for a short time the next morning to check on him and hopefully see him get released but the staff played the "we'll find out what's going on" game until I could wait no longer. I had to go and told him and the nurse that I would return at 4.00 to pick him up, assuming he was ready at that time.

While I was gone, the staff released him to walk home. Alone. Without a family member present to talk to a doctor or nurse.

They let him go on a winter day with no glasses, no hearing aids, no jacket, no phone, no ID, no wallet, and no vehicle. I know this because I had all of those items in my possession. After deciding he was ill enough to stay the night for monitoring, the staff let him go to WALK HOME unattended and without any of those important items. They apologized but said that it was okay because he made it home.

This is not okay and is negligent at best. Was a 79 year old man with dementia able to talk a professional hospital staff into deciding that letting him go alone and without contacting anyone was a good idea? How could this ever be the kind of care you would want for a family member in need? Our family is absolutely appalled.

They were very patient with me as I’m a bit claustrophobic these days and I was out of there early and on my way. My results were ready that same evening. Really quickly and politely, the best way it can go.

I will definitely be back!

Just spent 5 days at this hospital. The staff is amazing! All of them that I came in contact with. Nurse Edwin is the best. They were very caring and made my experience very comfortable. The rooms are clean and cleaned daily. The food was also very good for a hospital. HOWEVER, the beds are terrible. I was in a lot of pain and the bed made it so much worse. The air mattress even died during the night on my last day so I woke up to a flat board. I heard no one likes these beds.

First experience at the ER, the staff were very nice and treat you like a human being. The staff really care about getting to the root of your problem. I came in for a cold, and they probably wouldn't have caught the pneumonia had they not done chest X-rays, but they did! There was a little discrepancy for the script, but we got it all taken care of the next day.

Had an MRI in the am. The arrival time was 7:30am. I got to the door and there was already a vendor standing there at the front door because it was locked. One door says 6 AM and another door says 7 AM but it was 715 and it was locked. So I had to walk all the way around the building to the emergency room on a bum knee to check in. Speaking to a couple of nurses that I ran into apparently this is a very common problem that they will not fix it. So if you have an a.m. appointment that you need to be there at 7:30, more than likely, your doors are gonna be locked. The text message you receive does not explain this. The gentleman that did my MRI was more than excellent. He was hilarious and excellent, somebody that you always wanna run into if you ever have to go to the hospital.

Dr Charles Sloan
In regards to my recent visit with Dr Charles Sloan I give a rating of (1) Reason being I'm really tired of you as my primary care doctor not listening to me as a patient. I came in for a follow up after being diagnosed with blood clots in both legs and a short stay in the hospital explaining that I have severe pain in my legs both feet and ankles and you did nothing to help me. I also don’t understand why a question in regards to my personal dating and sex life would be asked when discussing the pain in my legs feet & ankles I found it very inappropriate. Then I go on to explain that I'm having a hard time sleeping and ask for a sleep aid Ambien a medicine I've been on in the past for my insomnia, “that helped me” and you deny giving it to me and didn’t even offer an alternative or solution. So to answer your question in regards to why you haven’t seen me in so long It's because any time I come to you as my primary care doctor, who supposed to help me you don't help. Even in the past when that other doctor was wrongfully taking me off my anxiety medication and I came to you for help you didn’t do anything. I figured I'd give you another chance this time hoping you'd help me but NOPE no help nothing but excuses from you. Well this will be the last time I give you a chance. I'm moving on to another health care provider. You truly showed me how unsympathetic you are when I got a charlie horse in my thigh as we were wrapping things up and you proceeded to give me instructions on my next appointment knowing full well I couldn't pay attention to you because of the pain I was in from the cramp I was experiencing. Then you excused yourself to move on to your next patient without any compassion for me during that moment of distress.

On Feb 4, 2025, I took a very dear 81 yr old friend to the ED with shortness of breath. We were taken in immediately and testing began. The entire ED team was very professional and accommodating. They were fairly busy but treated my friend as if they had all the time in the world for her. Included her family as well, but empowered her to make choices regarding her care. Very patient and understanding. Some members of her outstanding care team were Laura RN, Heidi from registrations, Sophia PA, & Dr Cathy O’Neal. Thank you LUH! She’s on the mend.

I’ve always debated leaving this review. Because it puts me in a very vulnerable place. But it needs to be shared. I’ve tried contacting higher ups and no one cares. All I get is an “ I’m sorry “. So. Anyway. Was taken here after a suicide attempt. Was told I was 3 minutes from being successful. While here the security and staff were horrible. The security guard at the time informed me that next time I try to kill myself make sure my windows were cracked open. ……. They laughed. They dehumanized me and they made my entire experience terrible. Thankfully I was able to get the help I needed. But I will always remember this and remember the words spoken to me. There is a lot more to this but I figured this would be enough for anyone to see. I’ve never felt more horrible in my life Please go to UC health or anywhere else if you ever need. This establishment is a joke.
