This gem of Denver has been bringing the joy of music to youth for decades. My first teacher was affiliated with CHBA back in the ‘90s. Now my kid is loving his time with the intermediate band. Great instructors, great directors, great memories!

CHBA has had an incredible and posutive impact on my high school sophmore son's musical ability. It increases his skill level and his confidence. My 6th grade daughter joined before school band was offered and she grew musically as a result of her theory and sectional work in CHBA. I am excited for my 5th grader to join CHBA and for her to be exposed to the world of music. CHBA is extremely good at communicating, and operates a well run ship. Programs start on time and the staff know the kids individually. The music stretches their abilities.

Great program for developing musicians. Compare to other cities young peoples orchestra, BUT:
1. This is a band environment, so winds and brass can participate.
2. Many young peoples orchestras are audition only. Not so here. This is a full developmental program, where you can come in with absolutely NO experience, and they will teach your child how to play their instrument from the ground up.
It is not age based, but rather you will advance as you grow. They have 4 bands from beginning to intermediate to advanced to Symphony Winds. Beginner doesn't audition, but all others must and/or pass musical milestones. It's a perfect program for homeschoolers as well as students who want to excel better in their school band.

As a military musician, I have been in many places, but this is the only metro area to have such an organization that I have seen, and it does its job very well. I would highly recommend CHBA for anybody's kid.

I am an alumni of CHBA. I can say that CHBA was one of the greatest factors in my development both as a musician and as a human being. Further, some of my closest friends are individuals that I met through Honor Band who I remain very close with 20 years later, most of whom are still active musicians and/or educators. CHBA is truly a life shaping organization.

The quality of the music and teaching seems to be great.

I have contacted their board 4 different times (via MetroVolunteers, and via email contact forms) in response to their call for board members, and have never received any type of response.
