This is a great organization! The staff is by far the most dedicated and professional people I have ever met. I have volunteered for the last three years. I found that the best part of the volunteer experience other than the mountains, is you leave with the feeling you made an actual positive impact. It's not flashie or comfortable, but it ranks it in the top three most meaningful things I've done. This experience has motivated me to honor the passing of a friend with a monetary donation. He experienced firsthand the negative impact on the alpine and specifically on the fourteeners as they grew in popularity.

If you are new to Colorado and you want to make a positive impact on your environment. Or you are a native like me and you want to show how much you care about your home.

Reach out to CFI and ask them how you can help support what they have dedicated their lives to. "Colorado Fourteeners Initiative protects and preserves the natural integrity of Colorado’s 54 14,000–foot peaks —the ā€œFourteenersā€ā€” through active stewardship and public education."

One of your vehicles was dangerously tailgating its way down Independence Pass eastbound on Thursday afternoon. Hope it wasn’t carrying passengers!
