My family and have been going to Church of the Highlands for years. We have grown a lot there and my kids love it too. We recently visited Grandview campus for the Christmas services and really enjoyed it. It’s a nice campus and Pastor Matt is a very relational leader. We usually go to Greystone or Grants Mill campuses but Grandview is quickly becoming our favorite. It’s going to have a great vibe once construction is finished and Highlands College moves in there.

If you’re looking for an amazing church in the state of Alabama (and a two/few in the state of Georgia) this is my to go to.
The worship is amazingly and very professional. You will experience God Himself in the worship. The theology is sound and not to complicated. The pastor is a very good communicator and it’s a joy to listen to him.
The have many campuses and all have the same look and feel

I usually attend the Grants Mill campus but recently moved near this campus allowing me the opportunity to attend a few services at this location. While it's a typical Church of the Highlands, I found the environment to be a bit cliquish which was disappointing. However, I do think this is an ideal location for Highlands College.

SEE PART 1 of COTH FIRST! (Grants Mill location)! I had to do this in 2 reviews since there’s a word limit on reviews but I simply could NOT!!! shorten my take on COTH:

PART 2: Since you can watch the sermons online on ChurchOfTheHighlands.com (select MEDIA, then search the messages or the series), by YouTube, Podcast and various other apps (like Faithful, which showcases various popular speakers, preachers and teachers). Speaking of popular, Google Chris Hodges (Birmingham, Alabama); see for yourself! Better yet, watch a service and decide.

You’ll see why THIS church is growing so quickly, yet while being as large as it is…there’s a unity and intimacy; an inclusion of sorts, regardless of where you are. COTH isn’t about being BIG, it’s about being like Christ. The fact that it IS so big, comes with the territory, if it’s truly of God…and IT IS, to God be the glory!
(“So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, Who makes things grow.” 1 Cor 3:7)

Now, about the WORSHIP Team… it’s an understatement to say they’re amazingly talented, anointed and the music is Holy Spirit FILLED. “Highlands Worship”: OH. MY. GOSH. The albums they’ve made, their YouTube channel, they’re on Spotify… and when you select the service on ChurchOfTheHighlands.com if you’ll choose to “Experience the Service”, rather than “Watch the Message”…I can’t stress this enough, how important it is to EXPERIENCE THE SERVICE. Why? Because the Bible says we “are to enter (God’s) gates with thanksgiving and praise” and THAT makes ALL the difference when coming into relationship with God. It’s why He gave us His Word!

The Bible is THE best instruction manual for life but most importantly on how to KNOW HIM. Do THAT and it’s absolutely indescribable. It’s ok if you don’t know the words, they’re written out for you. Even playing worship music, wherever you are at whatever time of day or night… will change the course of your moment, your day, your LIFE.

…but why take MY word for it, when you can go see for yourself? YES. THIS IS an invitation; a welcome HOME, where YOU. BELONG.
