We're glad we stopped here. If you think this is just a rock mass, you should stop and visit. There is one hike that goes up to the top. It's short, less than half a mile, but a bit steep. There is a second that is lower and completely paved. Stroller friendly. Lots of history here. Also, if you are a veteran, you can get a free lifetime park pass and bring your family and friends free.

So much to see, and so much walking with amazing history. The use of the interpretative sciences to figure out so much about this place. Plenty of restrooms and wear comfortable shoes for walking, there is a bit it of climbing to get to the top. Don't forget to watch the video on the visitor center to frame the experience and give you all the info to help with understanding the surroundings. Also bring water, sunscreen and maybe a coat too, depending on the season, open from May to September, we just stopped on a spur of the moment idea after seeing a road sign, so worth it, highly recommend this park.

Lovely little visitor center and nature trail at the bottom carpark and have to pay fee to go up to the top. Two trails lead off from the top, one short paved wide trail which could easily be navigated with a pushchair and a rocky trail along the ridge line. Both give good views but the rocky trail was more interesting. The rangers are friendly and knowledgeable.

There are 2 trail options here and i traversed both. One is paved like a sidewalk, easy and somewhat flat with great views. The other is more challenging but the views are absolutely worth it. The gift shop and information center are worth a step inside as well. The only thing I didn't like was no single day passes. You must buy a 6 day pass ($20) too access the top. All in all, great experience and friendly staff...

Great National Monument with a couple of short hikes to see the great kiva and ruins. The hikes are pretty easy with some incredible views. The visitor center is nice with some great souvenirs and informative signs. The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to share the history of this area. They close the gate to the upper sites at 3:15, and dogs are not allowed at the archeological sites. They do have kennels for dogs, though. This was a great way to spend a couple of hours. We were able to see everything within 2 hours. We got in with our America the Beautiful card.

Great place to visit and certainly worth the drive. Our 25' class c rv could park at the top, but had to get permission since there is really only one rv spot up there. Two short hikes at the top and many vistas (see photos). They say the hike is hard but I think it is only a bit slippery. Take good hiking shoes and poles for added comfort.

On my way from Pagosa to Durango, I decided to check this monument out and I’m sure glad I did! A lot of ruins. Very scenic and informative. I went around to read every single podium and probably spent an hour /hour and a half enjoying this place!
