I chose this organization for the experience, and to accumulate volunteer time to pay off my student loans. The CASAs seemed like mosquittos to the courts, hospitals, and dcs workers, who are already bombarded interacting with a plethora of people, and adding a CASA to a 5 year old case seemed counterproductive to the children it was supposed to help. The MILLIONS of dollars spent keeping kids in custody- when something as small as a $100 air conditioner donation could have prevented initial removal. It seemed mind boggling.
Im thankful for the experience though.
