. Calvary Chapel Montrose teaches directly from the Bible, book by book, chapter by chapter, and verse by verse. This helps to keep everything in context. It helps people learn more and keeps the pastor in check.
I am extremely particular about what churches I attend. This is one of the very best in our area, if not the best. There are no watered-down, milk-toast sermons at this place!
From Genesis to Revelation, you're gonna get it all straight from the Word of God.
They teach from the New King James Version, but bring whatever Bible you have. If you don't have a Bible with you, they will loan you one. I use the New American Standard Version myself, but the NKJV is excellent!
The people are nice and friendly, and there is a children's area as well. Young children and babies are generally cared for by church volunteers while you are able to study the Word during the sermon hour. Just inquire at the church reception desk to the right as you walk in, or ask one of the men at the door.
There is a praise and worship time for singing as well, but you can attend whatever you choose. The music is modern Christian music. Myself, I prefer the old school hymns, but it's still really good. The second service dismisses at about noon, so you can plan your day by that.
The pastors do rotate a bit, so I suggest coming to visit for one month straight. That will give you a good and fair understanding of our Body of Christ.
I wear casual dress attire as do most people, there is no "suit and tie" required here, but people wear suits as well. So, if you are passing through on vacation, don't be afraid to drop in wearing jeans and a T-shirt if that's what you have. We care more about you than your clothes. No offering plate will be shoved under your nose, but envelopes are available if you feel so led.

My family and I have chosen to make Calvary Chapel of Montrose our home church. The Bible is given supreme importance, the people are sincere and friendly and my kids love their classes. Kid's worship and Sunday School are offered at both services now and Pastor Ben is going through the Gospel of Luke, chapter by chapter and verse by verse, in his energetic, exhorting and encouraging way. You should come check it out!
