The first time I came to this church, the preacher was extremely humble. Today there was a guest speaker who was extremely arrogant. He really needs to humble himself before the Lord. He was preaching, hate against homosexuals and transgender people. I thought church was for everybody. And we wonder why today more and more people are turning away from God. If you don’t even feel safe and accepted and loved in church then where are you supposed to go? It was so sad that I had to walk out and got tears in my eyes. Knowing that if my son was brought here for church to hear the word of God, instead, he just would’ve been listening to someone preach hate against who he is. I am so sad that this is what’s being discussed and not that God loves everyone and accepts all of us and that we should feel welcome in church. Hate is no place to be talked about in church, but love and acceptance should be.

If you are church shopping go no further than Calvary Chapel in Camp Verde. The first time I went there was 3 years ago and have been there ever since. Pastor Scott Evans is a fantastic speaker that actually teaches the Bible. He's very engaging and funny as well.

It won't take you long to meet friendly people that will soon become your church family. If you have children they will be in very good and loving hands.

Pastor Scott not only teaches the Word of God chapter by chapter and verse by verse in an interesting, accurate and sometimes humorous way, but he is also friendly, approachable and sincere. There is a feeling of family at this Calvary Chapel and, equally important, there is a place for youth. They have youth classes and youth activities. If you are looking for a place to find faith, hope and love try it out for you will find Jesus and He is all of these and more.

Even though I was led to start the church 28 years ago... it has continued to keep the Biblical principles that it was founded on. Pastor Scott is a great teacher and a man of God who truly loves people. I just spent time there and it was Glorious!

We visited Calvary Chapel of Camp Verde while we were on our way from Sedona to Phoenix. It is easy to get to just off highway 17. We were greeted by folks immediately as we walked in making us feel right at home. The service was great consisting of Praise and Worship followed by a study from the Bible which is what they follow. This is a small church with a large heart for Jesus.
