Loved it when I first moved in but having to complain of no heat in the winter over and over with no response My water in my tub was draining slowly and I mentioned it to the apt manager when it happened… she said she would get a plumber out, never did. So I brought it up again… still nothing was done. I was cleaning and buying stuff to clear it. Then it happened again so I asked maintenance to look at it. The man gives me a huge bottle of acid and tells me to wear gloves. I ask him to why he couldn’t do it.. he brings up covid. Now this was Oct of 2021…anyways I pour the acid and then the following Saturday the maintenance man’s wife approached me and asked where the bottle of acid was. I told her that her husband told me to pour it down my tub so there wasn’t anymore. She walked off. I had been mentioning the water issue for 3-4 mths and nothing was done. Then in November my heater began acting funny. I changed the batteries and the filter(mind you.. I was given a filter that didn’t fit) … I mention that it’s cold in my apt and this happened the previous year as well.. that the heater was t working properly. Instead of fixing the issue, the apt manager suggests moving me to another apartment. My son and I were cold. By the middle of December, I still heard nothing.. and the water in the restroom was lukewarm. I hated for my son to take a cool shower and have to walk out into a cold apartment.. so we started staying with my mother. We had no choice. 3-4 mths mentioning an issue to not be resolved is ridiculous. I kept to myself there and did what I had to do… but for whatever reason she couldn’t maintain the apartments… or maybe she didn’t care.

At Buckner, you have to turn in budgets each month and schedules each semester. I turned in my things and she denied me my check 2x. So during January I began looking for a place and moved out in February. I let her know I was moving and she locked me out of my apartment and mailbox. Then they put my things I still had in the apartment outside . Now I know they did it the evening before because my food was left outside. Who does that? I was going back and forth to clean but for then to do that?

They say maintenance can’t work on the apartments when someone is there because of covid yet they have in person meetings. Makes no sense.

Sure you’ll have cheap rent and no bills.. you can go to school. But you’ll be treated like a child with the curfew, cleaning up after grown women and their kids, they’ll have access to your finances.

My car was shot up by a man who was trying to break into my car and my neighbors car. We called the cops on him and he came back and shot my car (it was the only one parked there). The cops asked for the apt manager to send the video and she said she couldn’t. And that I’d have to wait til Monday. I was just getting on my feet there and then I had this to deal with. Instead of checking to see if my son and I were ok .. the residents were asking if u had drama with someone. Only one resident helped me and was concerned. The apartment manager took forever to send the videos. The guy was homeless and on drugs… he had stolen a firearm from another home.

I’m glad I’m somewhere else and have my own place. My son is all happier and so am I.

She picks and chooses her favorites. No one is really supportive there. That was my experience with Buckner. Horrible
