I went here in 90.This place kept me from my mother I wasn't allowed talk to her or visit . Because they claimed I acted out after contact. We had chores from scrubbing floors cleaning bathrooms to vacuuingn dusting baseboard. We were allowed to use lawn mowers weed eaters. Had to earn basic privileges like tv or going store punishment inculed standing in corner for her only allowed sit 10 minutes each hr.Sometimes we were made hold out arms over our heads during that hour. If staff. Became angry with us we would be ignored for days.Honestly felt more like work camp instead of a caring environment for kids

I was at redwood cottage almost a decade ago and met some of the most incredible people in my life. I still have friends I shared time with at redwood. One of which is my best friend; my brother from another mother to this day. The staff always did their best trying to help you with what you were dealing with. Looking back this place brings me a lot of peace of mind knowing I got this experience and knowledge I did while I spent time there. The location is my favorite place I have ever been in my entire life. The city is breathtakingly beautiful. I miss the staff. They taught me a lot and I still carry those lessons with me today.

These people are being very good with my daughter. She had a bit of a mental breakdown. And they're very patient with her. Working hard to get her to have a better attitude, and stop isolating herself. Great people. They go above, and beyond what they have to. My review has went down, as they closed the unit she was in. She's backslid, big time, and is no longer living here, at home. That 72hr kick out, you did, really done a number. Probably not just with her. I hope you're happy. I would not recommend this place, anymore. You never know if they're gonna just up and shut the doors

I was placed here back in 2015. I was in the short term facility. They allowed the girls to fight and argue, 2 people tried to kill themselves and was rushed to the hospital in hopes that they would make it. Staff put us down except for a small handful, and didn’t really care to deal with us. Girls would cheek their pills in hopes of getting high. Staff didn’t believe anything you said to them about concerns and if they handled them they had a group meeting which would get out of hand. They never told me my diagnoses and I didn’t find out what it was until I was at home. I’m currently 22 and I’m still receiving a bill for a med that they gave me when I was a minor. Would not recommend.

You have to understand the kids that are placed here have severe depression or a troubled past or just a hard life. This place saved my life. And I am very grateful for the staff that never show they’re having a bad day and make this job not a profession but a way to help kids out. This place got me out of my drug habits. I highly recommend this place.

Lived in redwood cottage in 1990-91. The staff were incredible in helping me learn the values I needed and didn't put up with my BS. I owe much of my success in life to this place!
