Staff treat you like garbage, play favorites, and give away people's property. It's better to sleep in a tent in the cold than to be at The Bridge. There's no addiction treatment, Vocational Training or anything they claim to provide. They also don't tell you about the resources such as, socks, underwear, etc. that are available for residents. The food is as bad as prison food and is sometimes tampered with by the volunteers. This was built to be a wet shelter but, Indigenous People are dying in the streets because they are not allowed to stay there. We've had two Indigenous Relatives Walk On from freezing in the streets just in the last month and a half.

Quite possibly the worst shelter in the country. Do not stay here. Do whatever it takes to get to Grand Junction. First of all it's seasonal, because the unhoused of Cortez deserve to sleep on the streets or out of tents simply because the weather won't kill them. The big fat employee gathered us all into the dining room on Christmas Day (a Christmas men in their 60's+ would be spending i𝘯 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘰𝘵) to lecture us about getting out of the building on time. I've been to shelters with day rooms, case management and reasonable out times. (8 am as opposed to 6:30 am in winter) Intake took at least an hour to accommodate at most 20 people. I was physically assaulted and received a 45 day ban. I ended up back in Cortez this month and received a paper dated January 3rd with the words "45 nights" underlined with a return date listed as October of next year. (I think your math's a little off there pal) I was handed a toddler sized blanket and told to sleep on the street. Do not come here. Go to Pinion project and beg for a bus ticket to Junction

It's a place to sleep and that's what they make sure you know, They don't let you get comfortable and is very strict and search your belongings daily for drugs or paraphernalia and alcohol. The head guy who was in charge makes sure you know that he can kick you out for no reason whatsoever.

1 of the cleaner and less busy shelters I've seen. Unfortunately, if you don't have a vehicle the nearest food is at least a 30 minute walk.
