My experience with this program has been deeply disappointing, largely due to the unprofessional conduct of Ms. King and the lack of structure surrounding transportation services. From the very beginning, there has been a clear lack of consistency, communication, and accountability.

Despite repeated efforts on my part to be respectful, timely, and communicative, I have consistently been met with hostility, passive-aggressive behavior, and dismissive responses from Ms. King. Rather than offering support or clarity, she often escalates situations unnecessarily and misinterprets even the most neutral messages, creating a hostile environment that undermines the goals of the program.

The transportation system is equally disorganized. Rules seem to be created or changed on a whim with no formal notice or documentation, and requests are frequently delayed, ignored, or poorly handled. Students who rely on these services for access to education are treated as burdens rather than supported members of the program.

It’s incredibly discouraging to be met with such resistance and unkindness when all I’ve done is try to advocate for myself in a respectful manner. No one should be made to feel belittled or penalized for asking for the bare minimum: respect, communication, and reliability.

If this program genuinely wants to support student success, it needs serious internal restructuring — starting with accountability for staff behavior and transparency in policies.

Make sure you leave early as 6am to save a spot in line. There are people that assist with guiding the lines as well as a mini golf cart that will go back and forth to count how many cars are lined up.

There is a wait of at least an hour and a half until they get to you depending on your distance. They ask for your ID and how many families are you picking up for so be truly honest!

When getting closer to the distribution, you must have your trunk open so they can put the items in your trunk. Once they load everything, they can close your trunk for you and you drive away.

I've gone at least 3 times and they have great household items and some fruits& veggies!!! It's different every time. I think its worth the wait but make sure you use the bathroom before you leave or else you will be stuck in line lol. Will be looking forward to next months distribution!!! I have been going to St.Johns since 1998 when i moved to Houston. I was saved by this church my only issue is when i seriously need help they can’t or won’t. I tithe for over 27 years but what’s the point of tithing and can’t receive help from your own church. It’s just not right! I hear other people that get help from their church which is not even as popular as St. John’s

This was my first time coming to the food pantry. All the volunteers that I spoke with was all very nice. I wanted to express my appreciation for the people and all the food that was provided to me and my family. This is a wonderful place to come. Again I’m very grateful for your kindness and support.

I go there to volunteer for there Food on the 1st Saturday of every month from 10am-1pm and Food and Supply Distribution every 3rd Saturday of every month from 7am-12pm at 2019 Crawford St Houston, TX 77002. While Food and supplies last. Thank you very much
